A.` <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DENY COUNTER -OFFER FOR SALE OF 1054 LASALLE <br />OCTOBER 6, 1980 <br />COURT PROPERTY <br />A letter was received from Mr. Stephen J. Eddy, 301 LaPorte <br />Avenue, regarding the purchase by him of city-owned property <br />located at 1054 LaSalle Court. Mr. Eddy indicated that he did <br />not argue the appraised value which had been set at $401.00, but <br />he felt that, since the city had not cancelled a valid easement <br />he had held from the South Shore Railroad for access to his <br />warehouse across a part of the property taken for the Orange /Colfax <br />Connector, he should be entitled to purchase the property for less <br />than the appraised value, and he made an offer of $25.00 for the <br />property. Mr. McMahon stated that the plan's for the Orange /Colfax <br />Connector were completed prior to Mr. Eddy being involved and that <br />Mr. Eddy was aware of the situation. After a brief discussion, <br />Mr. McMahon made a motion that Mr. Eddy's counter -offer be rejected <br />and that the city not sell the aforementioned parcel for less than <br />the previously established offering price. ,The motion was seconded <br />by Mr. Kernan and carried. <br />PROVAL OF COUNTER -OFFER FOR SALE OF 215 EAST CALVERT STREET <br />A counter -offer was received from Mrs. Alle <br />East Calvert Street, for the purchase of ci <br />located at 215 East Calvert, for the amount <br />noted that the city had established an offe <br />for the property. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, recommended approval of the block party request of <br />Mrs. Carol Edgell to close the 1800 block of South Marine Street <br />on October 12, 1980, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. <br />(rain date of October 19, 1980). Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the block',party was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, recommended the removal of three street lights on <br />Twyckenham Drive south of Lincolnway East and the installation of <br />two lights of a higher intensity in that area.
