REGULAR MEETING <br />APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 - FIRE STATION NO. 11 <br />(HARRY H. VERKLER CONSTRUCTION) <br />JUNE 23, 1980 <br />Mr. McMahon stated that the change order was necessary for the <br />modification of-the locker room arrangement and for the construction <br />of an enclosure to address the housing of certain equipment needs. <br />The amount of the change order for Harry H. Verkler was in the <br />amount of $253.00 and would bring the new contract amount to <br />$312,763.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Kernan and carried, the change order in the amount of $253.00 <br />was approved. <br />NOTICE OF TERMINIATION OF LEASE (DISPOSITION PARCELS 8 -9, 8 -11) <br />In accordance with the.provisions of a lease entered into between <br />the Board of Public Works and the Department of Redevelopment on <br />June 2, 1980, the above mentioned lease may be terminated upon 30 <br />days written notice by either party. Since that time, the Depart- <br />ment of Redevelopment had learned of a private interest in acquiring <br />and building upon that site, and, on June 20, 1980, the parcel was <br />put up for public bid. The notice to terminate the lease will be <br />effective July 31, 1980. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,the notice of termination was <br />acknowledged and filed. <br />REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY TRAILER (307 WEST CALVERT - LEONARD BUSH) <br />A request from Leonard Bush to erect a temporary trailer on the <br />property at 307 West Calvert which is presently being used as a <br />junk yard was received by the Board. Mr. Paul Roelke, Assistant <br />Building Commissioner, submitted his recommendation to the Board <br />that approval , if given, be for a six -month to eleven -month maximum <br />time period with the stipulation that a permanent office would be <br />constructed during this time period. Mr. McMahon noted that the <br />city has experienced problems with the junk yard in the past and <br />he made a motion to refer the matter to the Legal Department for <br />review. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hill : and -carried. <br />APPROVE TEMPORARY PERMIT FOR CAMPERS - 718 EAST DONMOYER <br />AVENUE (CHURCH OF CHRIST) <br />A request from the Donmoyer Avenue Church of Christ was received <br />for permission to park campers ,on the church parking lot to accommodate <br />students attending a five -day seminar beginning on June 30 through <br />July 4, 1980. It was noted that the church parking lot was a little <br />less than four acres with open space. The church building facilities <br />(restrooms) would be available for the campers' use. A recommendation <br />approving the request was submitted by the Building Department. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the request was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING ZONE - HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH <br />A request from a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church located <br />at the corner of Lindsey and Sherman Streets was received by the <br />Board. The church organization was requesting the use of two <br />portable signs which could be erected and would designate spaces <br />for the handicapped. It was noted that the signs would only be <br />used on Sunday mornings and would be placed on Lindsey Street as <br />close as possible to the side entrance of the church. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Traffic Division of the Police Department for review and recommenda- <br />tion. <br />
