Board members and I requested from them the funds to hire James Childs Architects to
investigate the aforementioned projects and prepare the necessary documents to obtain cost
estimates covering the various projects. The Morris Entertainment Board unanimously approved
the request and a formal contract received the blessing of the Board of Public Works. We are
now at the point wherein we wish to present our findings to the Redevelopment Commission and
make a request to fund those projects.
In addition, this past summer, we struggled to maintain the Jon R Hunt Plaza/Park. We
desperately need a maintenance and master plan for this areal have contacted Ken Herceg &
Associates to make a proposal toward that end. I would also like to present that information to
the Redevelopment Commissioners for their consideration.
Again, I would like to meet with and make a formal presentation to the Redevelopment
Commission on Friday, December 3, 2010. Representatives from the architectural firms; the
Morris Entertainment Board; and Morris staff will be in attendance to answer any questions the
Commissioners may have. Please confirm that we have been added to the agenda for the meeting
day and time noted above. Thank you.
