REGULAR MEETING , DECEMBER 6, 2010 373 <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) OR MORE, 2010 OR NEWER TEN (10) CUBIC YARD ,PACKER <br />(SOLID WASTE RENTALS /CAPITAL LEASE ESCROW <br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on October 25, 2010, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referenced equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the second lowest responsive and responsible <br />bidder Link Environmental Equipment, Inc., PO Box 158, 918 North US Highway 35, Winamac, <br />Indiana 46996, in the amount of $114,171.00 for the base bid, $8,239 for Option I for a total of <br />$122,410.00. It was noted that the low bid from Pyramid. Equipment was rejected due to being <br />non - responsive. The equipment bid did not meet the requirements of the specifications. <br />Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded <br />as outlined above subject to financing. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried, <br />AWARD BID — ONE (1) OR MORE 2010 OR NEWER TWENTY-FIVE 25) CUBIC YARD <br />PACKER SOLID WASTE RENTALS /CAPITAL LEASE ESCROW <br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on October 25, 2010, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />Best Equipment, Inc., 5550 Poindexter Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46235, in the amount of <br />$155,263.00 each with options totaling $16,205.00 for a total of $171,468.00. It was noted that <br />the second bid from Best Equipment, and the bids from Pyramid Equipment, Link <br />Environmental, Kahn Manufacturing were rejected due to non - responsiveness. The equipment <br />bid did not meet the requirements of the specifications. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that <br />the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded approved as outlined above subject to <br />financing. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID — ONE 1 OR MORE 2010 OR NEWER THIRTY -THREE 33 CUBIC YARD <br />PACKERS .(SOLID WASTE RENTALS /CAPITAL LEA_ SE ESCROW_) <br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on October 25, 2010, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />Pyramid Equipment, 211 South Prairie Street, Rolling Prairie, Indiana 46371, in the amount of <br />$215,213.00 each and $430,426.00 total for two. It was noted that the bid from Link <br />Environmental and second bid from Pyramid Equipment were rejected due to non - <br />responsiveness. The equipment bid did not meet the requirements of the bid specifications. <br />Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded <br />as outlined above subject to financing. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID — ONE- THOUSAND AND EIGHT (1,008) MORE OR LESS UNIVERSAL <br />NESTABLE REFUSE CONTAINERS SOLID WASTE RENTALS /CAPITAL LEASE <br />ESCROW) <br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on October 25, 2010, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referenced equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />Pyramid Equipment, 211 South Prairie Street, Rolling Prairie, Indiana 46371, in the amount of <br />$44.75 each for a total of $45,108. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above subject to financing. Mr. Littrell seconded <br />the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID - HEAVY DUTY AERIAL LADDER (QUINT) <br />Chief Howard Buchanon, Fire Department, advised the Board that on November 22, 2010, bids <br />were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Chief <br />Buchanon recommended that the Board award the contract to Pierce Manufacturing/Global <br />Emergency Products, 2600 American Drive, Appleton, Wisconsin 54912, in the amount of <br />$793,888.00, the second lowest bid. Mr. Gilot noted the low bidder, Sutphen Corporation was <br />found to be non - responsive to the bid specifications because their bid did not meet the bid <br />specifications on numerous required items, Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded subject to appropriation of funds by the <br />Common Council. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. <br />
