4. The REAL Services grant program is finished. The workers were very good and were <br />quite helpful. Three of the workers are being retained on a part time basis. <br /> 5. The parking lot at LaSalle Park is being paved on Thursday. <br /> 6. Boilers are being readied for winter. <br /> 7. The Ice Rink is being checked and painted for the skating season. <br /> 8. When the weather isn’t good, crews are building picnic tables. <br /> <br /> <br />XI.Comments by Development Director <br /> <br />1. Mr. Payton reported that Mr. Al Moll, the director of the Fort Wayne Park Department <br />will be attending the next Park Foundation Board meeting to offer his view on park <br />foundations. <br />2. The fall activity guide went out last week. In the future, we will be doing two guides <br />rather than three next year. They will be more comprehensive and will be sent to more <br />distribution points. <br />3. The REAL Services grant final paperwork is being compiled for submittal. <br /> <br /> <br />XII.Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> <br /> 1. Ms. O'Connor said that the O’Brien Fitness Center is celebrating its tenth anniversary <br />this week. A number of activities are being planned for the current members as well as to <br />bring in new ones. <br /> 2. The Fall Family Fun Fair was held last weekend and they estimated 3,000 attendees. <br />She thanked Ms. Paula Garis, Special Events Supervisor, for the great event. <br /> 3. The Youth Instructional classes start next week. <br /> 4. Bouncee rentals are doing well and schools are contacting us for their events. <br /> 5. There are 100 participants in the Park sponsored swim club. <br /> 6. A volunteer recognition reception will be held at the Chris Wilson on October 14. <br /> 7.
