Im <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BE IT RESOLVED: <br />FEBRUARY 12, 1979 <br />1. That the Board of Works orders the Denartment of <br />Public Works to prepare plans, specifications, <br />cost estimates, secure the necessary right -of -way <br />and easements, by the doing of all acts necessary and <br />desirable to the acquisition by gift, purchase or <br />condemnation. <br />2. Mullen <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, <br />Dated this 12th day of February,-1979. <br />REQUEST TO DESIGNATE NO PARKING AREAS AT IUSB RECEIVED <br />The Board received a request from Indiana University at South Bend <br />to designate no parking areas at two locations near the university; <br />one on the east side of Esther Street, between Mishawaka Avenue <br />and Ruskin Street and one on the west side of Greenlawn, between <br />Mishawaka Avenue and Northside Boulevard. It was noted that the <br />request is being made to improve traffic flow around the buildings. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR DAFFODIL SALE APPROVED <br />The American Cancer Society requested that the Board extend approval <br />given for their Annual Daffodil Sale to March 31. Approval had <br />been given for the sale.on Friday, March 30 from 10:00 a.m. to <br />2:00 p.m. in front of the County -City Building, on River Bend Plaza, <br />in front of the American National Bank and the First Bank and Trust <br />Company. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the Board approved the request to extend the sale <br />to Saturday, March 31. <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS APPROVED <br />Requests were received from John Pecsi, 1709 S. Douglas Street, <br />and Catherine Schulz, 604 E. Farneman, for handicapped parking <br />permits. Both had permits last year and have permanent disability <br />statements on file with the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the applications <br />were approved and referred to the Deputy City Controller's Office <br />for issuance of the permits. <br />
