343 REGULAR MEETING TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED DECEMBER 18. 1978 Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported that at the request of the Torrington Company traffic conditions at their location were investigated and the following recommendations were now being made: A. Install No Parking Tow Away Zone, North Side of Sample, 100 feet east and west of Wellington (3700 and 3800 W. Sample) B. Install No Parking, Kenmore, both sides, from Sample north to first alley parallel to Sample (800 S. Kenmore). C. Install No Parking, North side of Sample from a point 100' east of Wellington to a point approximately 325' east of Wellington (3700 W. Sample) D. Revise to Tow Away Zone, North side of Sample from a point approximately 300' west of Kenmore to Kenmore (3700 W. Sample). E. Install No Parking, North side of Sample, from Kenmore to a point 100' east of Kenmore (3600 W. Sample). F. Revise to Tow Away.Zone South side of Sample from a point approximately 300' west of to a point approximately.150' east of the center line of Kenmore (3600 -3700 W. Sample). G. Install No Parking, Passenger Loading Zone, South side of 3700 W. Sample from a point approximately 30' west of to a point approximately 500' west of Kenmore. Mr. Wadzinski also recommended that a Yield Sign be revised to a Stop Sign on Bader at Rockne. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the traffic control recommendations were approved. HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES IN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted to the Board for consideration four parking spaces in the central business district to be designated as handicapped parking spaces. The first recommendations provide for spaces near governmental offices and utilities and there will be an additional sixteen to twenty spaces in the downtown recommended at a later date. Recommended for approval at this time were: A.. South Side of 200 W. Wayne, first space west of Main Street B. South Side of 100 W. Wayne, first space east of Main Street - C. North side of 100 W. Jefferson, first space west of Main Street D. East side of 100 S. Lafayette, first space north of Jefferson Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the designated handicapped parking spaces in the central business district were approved. CENTURY CENTER CHANGE ORDERS APPROVED Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the Board the following change orders in Century Center contracts: Contract No. 004 - Concrete, Masonry and Carpentry, H.G. Christman Co. Change Order No. 25 - Add $12,261.00 - Additional control joints for masonry cars, completion of retaining wall at race.
