343 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />DECEMBER 18. 1978 <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that at the request of the Torrington Company traffic <br />conditions at their location were investigated and the following <br />recommendations were now being made: <br />A. Install No Parking Tow Away Zone, North Side of Sample, <br />100 feet east and west of Wellington (3700 and 3800 W. Sample) <br />B. Install No Parking, Kenmore, both sides, from Sample north to <br />first alley parallel to Sample (800 S. Kenmore). <br />C. Install No Parking, North side of Sample from a point 100' east <br />of Wellington to a point approximately 325' east of Wellington <br />(3700 W. Sample) <br />D. Revise to Tow Away Zone, North side of Sample from a point <br />approximately 300' west of Kenmore to Kenmore (3700 W. Sample). <br />E. Install No Parking, North side of Sample, from Kenmore to a <br />point 100' east of Kenmore (3600 W. Sample). <br />F. Revise to Tow Away.Zone South side of Sample from a point <br />approximately 300' west of to a point approximately.150' east <br />of the center line of Kenmore (3600 -3700 W. Sample). <br />G. Install No Parking, Passenger Loading Zone, South side of <br />3700 W. Sample from a point approximately 30' west of to a point <br />approximately 500' west of Kenmore. <br />Mr. Wadzinski also recommended that a Yield Sign be revised to a <br />Stop Sign on Bader at Rockne. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the traffic control recommendations were approved. <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES IN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board for consideration four parking spaces in <br />the central business district to be designated as handicapped parking <br />spaces. The first recommendations provide for spaces near governmental <br />offices and utilities and there will be an additional sixteen to <br />twenty spaces in the downtown recommended at a later date. Recommended <br />for approval at this time were: <br />A.. South Side of 200 W. Wayne, first space west of Main Street <br />B. <br />South <br />Side <br />of <br />100 <br />W. <br />Wayne, first space east of Main Street - <br />C. <br />North <br />side <br />of <br />100 <br />W. <br />Jefferson, first space west of Main Street <br />D. <br />East <br />side <br />of <br />100 <br />S. <br />Lafayette, first space north of Jefferson <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the designated handicapped parking spaces in the central business <br />district were approved. <br />CENTURY CENTER CHANGE ORDERS APPROVED <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the <br />Board the following change orders in Century Center contracts: <br />Contract No. 004 - Concrete, Masonry and Carpentry, H.G. Christman Co. <br />Change Order No. 25 - Add $12,261.00 - Additional control joints for <br />masonry cars, completion of <br />retaining wall at race. <br />
