235 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 28, 1978 <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY - GRUBER'S SUPER MARKET <br />Gruber's Super Market, by its Attorney F. Gerard Feeney, files a <br />petition to vacate the first east -west alley north of Prairie <br />Avenue and west of Magnolia Street. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the petition was <br />filed and referred to the Bureau of Engineering and the Area Plan <br />Commission staff for review and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following street light <br />recommendations: <br />Removal of 1000L Inc on Huron, between Sheridan and Albert, <br />Install 7000L Inc, on Huron, between Sheridan and Albert <br />Install 7000L MV midblock 100 E. Chippewa <br />Total increase - $7.69/mo. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />TITLE SHEET AND BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - VIADUCT LIGHTING <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting submitted to the Board the <br />title sheet approving the plans for viaduct lighting at Fellows, <br />High, Main, Marietta, Miami, Michigan and Sample Streets. The <br />Bureau also submitted a request to advertise for bids for the <br />project. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board signed the title sheet approving the plans <br />and approved advertising for bids, with sealed bids to be received <br />on September 18, 1978. <br />PARADE APPROVED SEPTEMBER 16 FOR STEWART MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that he had reviewed the request of the Stewart Memorial <br />Baptist Church to hold a parade on September 9. In concurrence <br />with the Police Department, it is recommended that the date be <br />changed to September 16 because of a home Notre Dame football game <br />on September 9. The church has agreed to the date change. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon,seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />parade was approved for September 16, 1978. <br />MEMORIAL HOSPITAL PARKING REQUEST APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that he had reviewed a request of Memorial Hospital to <br />designate the west side of Main Street, between Bartlett Street and <br />Navarre, as a two -hour parking area to allow turnover of parking <br />while the parking garage is being constructed. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />BUZ ZONE APPROVED - SUMMIT DRIVE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the <br />reported that the Community School <br />the east side of Summit Drive, from <br />designated "No Parking or Standing <br />assigned to Washington High School. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />was approved. <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Corporation has requested <br />Washington to Greenleaf, be <br />- Bus Zone" to accommodate buses <br />Upon motion made by Mr. <br />carried, the recommendation <br />
