233 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Rieth Riley Construction Co. <br />Bid - $59,418.25 <br />AUGUST 28, 1978 <br />Bid was signed by Richard Ruhlman, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Public <br />Construction for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF PROPERTY AT 51142 REDWOOD ROAD <br />This was the date set for receipt of bids for the sale of city -owned <br />property at 51142 Redwood Road. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. Fujawa <br />and Dorothy Sarbo <br />721 Clearview Place <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dorothy Sarbo <br />721 Clearview Place <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Fred Kroll <br />Bid - $24,700.00 <br />Bid - $22.515.00 <br />Bid - $24,110.00 <br />Bid - $24,000.00 <br />Bid - $23,600.00 <br />Bid - $22,850.00 <br />Bid - $23,750.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bids were referred to James Seitz, Park Superintendent, for <br />review and recommendation. <br />BID AWARDED - ROOF REPAIRS TO FIRE STATION #3 <br />Chief Oscar Van Wiele submitted to the Board a review of the <br />bid received for roof repairs to Fire Station #3. The Board <br />received no bids on the first advertisement and re- advertised. <br />The second bidding reulted in receipt of only one bid from the <br />Slatile Roofing Company. The bid as received was over the budgeted <br />amount for the repair. The Chief reported that the bidder has <br />now submitted alternates and he was recommending that the bid <br />be awarded subject to a Change Order reducing the bid by $3,825.00. <br />The original bid was in the amount of $15,375.00 and the change <br />order would make the amount of award $11,550.00. The change order <br />as submitted deleted some items. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bid of Slatile Roofing <br />Company was accepted as was Change Order No. 1, making the <br />total amount of the award $11,550.00. <br />
