r4TdjN <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 21, 1978 <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOT AT 1024 W. OAK <br />Harry Martin, Jr, requested information regarding the possible <br />purchase of a city -owned lot at 1024 W. Oak Street. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Engineering, Parks, Redevelopment, <br />Community Development and the Mayor's Office for review and a <br />determination as to whether or not the lot should be retained for <br />any purpose. <br />APPROVAL OF PURCHASE AGREEMENT - SALE OF 314 E. OHIO <br />A purchase agreement for the sale of a city -owned lot at 314 E. <br />Ohio Street was prepared by Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone and <br />submitted to the New Hope Baptist Church. The agreement provides <br />for sale of the lot for a price of $429.00. The agreement has <br />now been approved by the purchaser and is submitted to the Board <br />for approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the purchase agreement was approved and <br />the Board directed that a deed be prepared. <br />SOUTH BEND HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS APPROVED <br />Applications for Handicapped Parkinq Permits were submitted to the <br />Board by Robert Ungurait and Theodore Reiter. Both applicants <br />submitted certification from their physicians. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the applicatons <br />were approved and forwarded to the City Controller's Office for <br />issuance of permits. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 15827 through 16276 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried., <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 15827 through 16276 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />BONDS RELEASED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that <br />requests to release the following bonds had been reviewed: <br />Kenneth Story, Bond No. 757702 00190126; Jack Deafenba:ugh, <br />Bond No. 1755792; and D -Mark Construction Company, Bond No. 1755861. <br />r'tr. Andrysiak reported there are no outstanding permits against any <br />of the bonds and he recommended release. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bonds were <br />released. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period August 12 through <br />16 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated sixty outages. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />Mikki Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza submitted to the Board <br />an application of the YWCA for display booths on the Robertson's <br />stage on September 8, 9 and 10 for a publicity drive. She recommended <br />the application favorably. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried the application was approved. <br />The White Elephant Shop requested permission to pass out flyers to <br />publicize their grand opening on August 23 through 25. Upon motion <br />made by .Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request <br />was approved. <br />
