REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 7, 1978 2 1 5 <br />OPEN AIR STAND APPROVED - AUGUST 12 <br />William Michalski submitted an application to operate an Open <br />Air Stand on Saturday, August 12 in the St. Adalbert's Church <br />Parking Lot. The stand is for the purpose of selling produce <br />and other food items. Written permission of the church for the <br />location of the stand on their property is to be sent to the <br />Board. Upon motion made by-Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the Board approved the application subject to receipt <br />of written permission of the property owner and to securing the <br />necessary City license. <br />BONDS RELEASED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau'of'Hngineering, reported to the Board <br />that he had reviewed requests to release the bond of Ira C. <br />Mast and of Stephen Suth. He found no outstanding permits against <br />either contractor and recommended release of the bonds. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the bond of Ira C. Mast was released effective September 23, 1978 <br />and the bond of Stephen,Suth was released, effective August 7, 1978. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS, <br />J <br />Michael L. Vance submitted ;te the. Board Claim Docket Numbers <br />14696 through 15198 and recommended approval. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board <br />approved Claim Docket Numbers 14696 through 15198 and directed <br />that checks for payment be issued. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period 7/28 through 7/31 <br />was submitted to the Board. The report indicated thirty -eight <br />outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUEST RECEIVED - 200 BLOCK E. NAVARRE <br />Jean C. Wenman submitted a request to block the 200 block East <br />Navarre Street from the alley to Riverside Drive on August 19 <br />from 4:00 p.m. to midnight for a Block Party. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />BID AWARDED - TIRE REPAIRS <br />Peter H. Mullen, City Controller, reported to the Board that he <br />had reviewed the only bid received for Tire Repairs for City <br />Vehicles through June 30, 1979 from the Singer General Tire Company. <br />He recommended acceptance of the bid as submitted. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bid <br />of the Singer General Tire Company was accepted. <br />BID AWARDED - CAR WASHES <br />Peter H. Mullen, City Controller, reported to the Board that only <br />one responsive bid was received for Car Washes for City vehicles. <br />The bid was from Comet Car Wash. A bid from Hi -Speed Auto Wash <br />was received after the advertised time for bid opening and the <br />Legal Department has indicated that bid cannot be considered. <br />Mr. Mullen noted that having only one car washing facility under <br />
