18� <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 10, 1978 <br />FILING OF LETTER RE: DESIGNATION OF EWING -AND HIGH STREETS <br />The Board received a letter from Councilman Mary Christine Adams <br />asking whether Ewing and High Streets are considered boulevards <br />and expressing concern about heavy truck traffic on these streets. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the letter was referred to the Department of Engineering for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE ALLEYS ADJACENT TO WILLIAM PENN CLUB FILED <br />A request from the William Penn Association, 1024 W. Indiana Avenue, <br />to block the alleys adjacent to the Club building for an annual <br />picnic on Saturday, July 29, 3978 was submitted to the Board. The <br />picnic is to begin at 12:00 noon and continue until dark. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON TERI STREET RECEIVED <br />Polly Talboom, 220 Teri Street, submitted a request to block Teri <br />Street, from Addison To Fellows, on Sunday, July 23 for a Block <br />Party from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The request was signed by <br />fourteen residents of the block. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SNOW EQUIPMENT TABLED <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, requested that the <br />Board approve advertising for bids for snow control equipment. <br />Joseph Nagy, Fiscal Officer, was present and noted that the bid <br />would be for approximately 30 V plows and salt spreaders. Mr. <br />Mullen said he would like additional information about the total <br />cost for the equipment. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was tabled until the <br />next meeting. <br />REQUEST FOR PARKING SPACES FOR COUNTY POLICE FILED <br />Dean Bolerjack, Sheriff, requested that the Board consider <br />designating six parking spaces for the County Police on South Main <br />Street; two in front of the First Bank in the old bus zone and <br />four north of the ramp. He pointed out that the need for parking <br />space for County Police vehicles is acute. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the Police Department <br />and Michael Carrington, Administrative Assistant to Mayor Nemeth, <br />for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR TENT SALE FILED <br />Ireland Road Grace Brethren Church, 1701 E. Ireland Road, submitted <br />a request to hold tent services on its property from July 30 to August 13. <br />The church submitted information regarding the fireproofing of the <br />tent and noted that they have six acres of land and three entrances <br />to their property. Parking will be provided on the church grounds. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and recommendation. <br />
