184 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 10, 1978 <br />BID AWARDED - AIR COMPRESSOR FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Oscar Van Wiele advised the Board that he had reviewed the <br />bids received for an air compressor for the Department. He noted <br />that the bid of Centurion Fire & Safety Equipment Company was low <br />at $9,750.00. He recommended acceptance of the low bid, with the <br />addition of an on /off switch at $50.00 and a deduction of $300.00 <br />for deletion of check valves between air vessels in the cascade <br />system. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board accepted the recommendation as outlined by <br />Chief Van Wiele and accepted the low bid of Centurion Fire And <br />Safety Equipment Company for one Mako 5,000 PSI Air Compressor <br />in the net amount of $9,500.00. <br />CHANGE ORDER #1 AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED FOR <br />CREST MANOR SECTION TWO SANITARY SEWER PROJECT <br />Change.Order. #1 in the Crest Manor Section Two Sanitary Sewer <br />Project was submitted to the Board by John Leszczynski, Manager <br />of the Bureau of Public Construction. The contract is with Taylor <br />Construction Company. The Change Order increases the contract` <br />by $78.00 and is to adjust the contract to as -built plans. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Change Order was approved. The Project Completion Affidavit <br />was then submitted to the Board. Total project cost was listed at <br />$3,377.00 and the Maintenance Agreement is to extend through June <br />19, 1981. Upon motion made b_y Mr. Mullen, seconded by Per. Brunner <br />and carried, the Affidavit was approved, subject to receipt of the <br />required maintenance bond. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED — 1978 CURB CONTRACTS <br />John E. Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />submitted to the Board a request to advertise for')bids for the <br />following projects under the 1978 Curb Contracts. <br />Project I Reconstruction of curbs on Riverside Drive, along Leeper <br />Park from Lafayette Blvd. to a point 450' from the <br />intersection and the widening of the North Side of <br />Howard Street, between Niles Avenue and Foster Street, <br />approximately 1501. <br />Project II- Widening of Ironwood Drive at its intersection with <br />Jefferson Boulevard, to widen Ironwood an additional <br />eight feet to increase traffic flow through the <br />intersection and to reconstruct the curb around a <br />traffic island on the north side of the intersection of <br />Ireland Road and York Road to eliminate a safety hazard <br />caused by motorists driving over the island. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise <br />for bids. <br />FILING OF QUARTERLY ACQUISITIONS REPORT - DISCOVERY HALL MUSEUM <br />Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, submitted to <br />the Board the quarterly report of acquisitions through June 30. <br />The following items were acquired: <br />Studebaker Pins and Badge <br />Studebaker Key <br />Conestoga Wagon Jack, 1822 <br />TALOS Missile dolly <br />Stephenson Underwear Crate <br />S.B.
