184 REGULAR MEETING JULY 10, 1978 BID AWARDED - AIR COMPRESSOR FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Oscar Van Wiele advised the Board that he had reviewed the bids received for an air compressor for the Department. He noted that the bid of Centurion Fire & Safety Equipment Company was low at $9,750.00. He recommended acceptance of the low bid, with the addition of an on /off switch at $50.00 and a deduction of $300.00 for deletion of check valves between air vessels in the cascade system. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board accepted the recommendation as outlined by Chief Van Wiele and accepted the low bid of Centurion Fire And Safety Equipment Company for one Mako 5,000 PSI Air Compressor in the net amount of $9,500.00. CHANGE ORDER #1 AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED FOR CREST MANOR SECTION TWO SANITARY SEWER PROJECT Change.Order. #1 in the Crest Manor Section Two Sanitary Sewer Project was submitted to the Board by John Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction. The contract is with Taylor Construction Company. The Change Order increases the contract` by $78.00 and is to adjust the contract to as -built plans. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Change Order was approved. The Project Completion Affidavit was then submitted to the Board. Total project cost was listed at $3,377.00 and the Maintenance Agreement is to extend through June 19, 1981. Upon motion made b_y Mr. Mullen, seconded by Per. Brunner and carried, the Affidavit was approved, subject to receipt of the required maintenance bond. BID ADVERTISING APPROVED — 1978 CURB CONTRACTS John E. Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, submitted to the Board a request to advertise for')bids for the following projects under the 1978 Curb Contracts. Project I Reconstruction of curbs on Riverside Drive, along Leeper Park from Lafayette Blvd. to a point 450' from the intersection and the widening of the North Side of Howard Street, between Niles Avenue and Foster Street, approximately 1501. Project II- Widening of Ironwood Drive at its intersection with Jefferson Boulevard, to widen Ironwood an additional eight feet to increase traffic flow through the intersection and to reconstruct the curb around a traffic island on the north side of the intersection of Ireland Road and York Road to eliminate a safety hazard caused by motorists driving over the island. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids. FILING OF QUARTERLY ACQUISITIONS REPORT - DISCOVERY HALL MUSEUM Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, submitted to the Board the quarterly report of acquisitions through June 30.
