137 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 30, 1978 <br />4. During 1978 to then proceed as to further determination <br />of full actuation of the controller after instructions <br />to the children have been given. <br />In brief, a solid state actuated controller has in most <br />cases the possibility of numerous phasing possibilities. <br />Personnel, through this Bureau in cooperation with the <br />manufacturer, will attempt to phase the signal in such a <br />way to be the least confusing to the children of Madison <br />School during the summer months. <br />It is recommended that the above mentioned enforcement problems <br />brought out by the citizens be referred to the Chief of <br />Police for necessary enforcement. <br />s/ Ralph J. Wadzinski <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the report was filed and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />Police Department will be directed to implement the recommendations <br />made. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended approval of <br />the following traffic control devices: <br />A. Removal of "No Turn on Red" on Columbia and Western <br />B. Removal of "No Turn on Red" on St. Joseph at Washington <br />C. Install "Stop_ Signs" and "One Way -Do Not Enter" Signs <br />at Block Six and Jefferson, where no signage presently <br />exists. -- <br />Upon motion made by Mr.- Mullenp seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REOUEST.APPROVED <br />Mikki Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the Board <br />an application from the Presbyterian Players to present scenes <br />from "Oliver" on Saturday, June 17 on Robertson's Stage from <br />1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the application was approved. <br />BOND APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, submitted to the Board <br />an Excavation Bond for Gerald J. O'Brien, noting that it was <br />properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was approved. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 9618 through 10061 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 9618 through 10061 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />OPEN AIR STAND APPT=A!P11ON FOR 1346 N. IRONWOOD TABLED <br />The Board received an application from Steve Crane to operate a <br />Fireworks Stand at 1346 N. Ironwood from June 23 through July 5. <br />Permission of the property owner was attached. David A. Wells, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Design and Administration, pointed out that <br />this is in the area of the North Ironwood Drive improvements and <br />recommended that the application be checked with Patrick McMahon, <br />Director of Public Works, before action is taken. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the application <br />was tabled for one week. <br />
