118 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 15, 1978 <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS APPROVED <br />Mikki Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the <br />Board the following requests, along with her favorable recommendation: <br />A. The Salvation Army requested permission to park their Mobile <br />Unit on the Plaza on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this <br />week to dispense free coffee and doughnuts in observance of <br />Salvation. Army Week. F. Jay Nimtz, Member of the Salvation <br />Army Board, was also present. Mr. McMahon asked Mr. Nimtz if <br />there would be any objection to parking the unit at the inter- <br />section of Washington Street and the Plaza. Mr. Nimtz said the <br />organization had no location in mind and would accept any spot <br />selected by the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the locating of <br />the Salvation Army Mobile Unit on the Plaza at Washington Street <br />on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. <br />B. Adams High School Jazz Ensemble on the Plaza on Tuesday, May <br />16 at 12:00 noon. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was approved. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers -_- 8561 through 9003 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers = -- 8561 through 9003 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period May 4 to 9 was <br />submitted to the Board. The report indicated six outages. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon,_ seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the report was ordered filed. <br />POPPY SALE APPROVED <br />Pulaski Unit #357 submitted a request to the Board to hold their <br />sale of veteran -made poppies on the public sidewalks on Friday, May <br />19 and Saturday, May 20. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was approved. <br />PARADE REQUEST FILED - WEST SIDE VETERAN'S MEMORIAL COMMITTEE <br />The West Side Veteran's Memorial Committee requested permission to <br />hold their Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, 1978 <br />beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Olive and Ford Streets. The proposed route <br />was submitted and the certificate of insurance has been ordered. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the parade was approved, subject to approval of the route <br />by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, Cler <br />
