103 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 1, 1978 <br />WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works now wishes to take the <br />necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the future, <br />to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant to Chapter 14.5 of <br />the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />1. That the parcels of real estate owned by the City <br />contained in the following list are not necessary <br />to the public use and are not set aside by state <br />or city law for public purposes: <br />Street Address Deed Number <br />216 E. Mullen <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS <br />Mikki Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the Board <br />a recommendation to permit a display by the Mayor's Traffic and <br />Safety Commission on the Plaza from May l through 8 on the <br />Supergraphic Block. Upon motion made b_y Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. <br />St. Diary's College requested permission to give a Mime Performance <br />for Head Start Pupils on the Robertson's Stage on Tuesday, May <br />9 at 10:00 a.m. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the request was approved. <br />REPORT FROM STREET DEPARTMENT ON CHUCKHOLE PATCHING FILED <br />The Board had requested a report from the Street Department <br />regarding statistics on the recent chuckhole patching operation. <br />A -report from Mr. Gawrysiak indicates that a total of $16,053.09 <br />was spent for materials. Mr. McMahon noted that this represents <br />about 1,100 tons of patching material. In addition, 2400 man hours <br />were spent on the operation. Mr. Mullen expressed appreciation for <br />the fine job done on patching chuckholes on city streets, considering <br />the extreme winter weather. In response to a question, Mr. McMahon <br />noted that the State Highway Department has responded to the City's <br />request to patch state routes within the City and he said he has <br />been informed that the State Highway Department is going to address <br />most of the state routes this summer with major patching and spot <br />overlays on Routes 23, 20 and 33 as they go through the City. Mr. <br />McMahon made a motion that the report be filed and that a letter <br />of commendation be prepared and mailed to Mr. Gawrysiak and the <br />Foremen. <br />
