103 REGULAR MEETING MAY 1, 1978 WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works now wishes to take the necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the future, to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant to Chapter 14.5 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: 1. That the parcels of real estate owned by the City contained in the following list are not necessary to the public use and are not set aside by state or city law for public purposes: Street Address Deed Number 216 E. Milton Street 1038 Blaine Avenue 655 N. Lawndale 941 999 612 2. That this resolution shall immediately upon its' adoption be submitted to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, pursuant to Chapter 14.5 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. Mullen ATTEST: s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS Mikki Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the Board a recommendation to permit a display by the Mayor's Traffic and Safety Commission on the Plaza from May l through 8 on the Supergraphic Block. Upon motion made b_y Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. St. Diary's College requested permission to give a Mime Performance for Head Start Pupils on the Robertson's Stage on Tuesday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. REPORT FROM STREET DEPARTMENT ON CHUCKHOLE PATCHING FILED The Board had requested a report from the Street Department regarding statistics on the recent chuckhole patching operation. A -report from Mr. Gawrysiak indicates that a total of $16,053.09 was spent for materials. Mr. McMahon noted that this represents about 1,100 tons of patching material. In addition, 2400 man hours were spent on the operation. Mr. Mullen expressed appreciation for the fine job done on patching chuckholes on city streets, considering the extreme winter weather. In response to a question, Mr. McMahon noted that the State Highway Department has responded to the City's request to patch state routes within the City and he said he has been informed that the State Highway Department is going to address most of the state routes this summer with major patching and spot overlays on Routes 23, 20 and 33 as they go through the City. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the report be filed and that a letter of commendation be prepared and mailed to Mr. Gawrysiak and the Foremen.
