REGULAR MEETING 14AY`1, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 1978 by President Patrick M. McMahon, <br />with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 24 MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the April 24, 1978 <br />meeting had been reviewed and he recommended approval. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr. McMahon and carried, the <br />minutes were approved as submitted. <br />OPENING OF BIDS — LEASED AUTOMOBILE FOR BUREAU OF EMPLOYMENT <br />AND TRAINING <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for -the lease of one <br />mid -size station wagon for the Bureau of Employment and Training. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Medow Leasing, Inc. Bid was signed by Stanley A. <br />South Bend, Indiana Pollyea, non - collusion affidavit <br />was in order and a 10% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - One 1978 Dodge As Station Wagon <br />$_157.43 per month, 10,000 annual mileage allowance, with <br />5� per mile excess mileage charge. <br />This was the only bid received. Unon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bid was referred to the <br />Bureau of Employment and Training for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - MUSEUM CARPETING'FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />This was the date'set for receiving bids for Museum Carpeting for <br />Century Center. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the.South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Interior Finishes, Inc. <br />Osceola, Indiana <br />Bid - $18,795.00 <br />Ries Furniture Company <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Alfred R. Vicsik, <br />non- collusion affidavit-was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone <br />advised the Board that the bid form <br />was not signed and this is a fatal <br />defect. He recommended the bid <br />be rejected. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bid of Ries Furniture Company was rejected as being defective <br />because the'bid was unsigned, and the bid of Interior Finishes, Inc. <br />was referred to Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, for <br />review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS — MUSEUM LIGHTING FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for museum lighting for <br />Century Center. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found <br />to be sufficient.
