63
REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 27, 1978
PETITION FOR ANNEXATION AND ANNEXATION AGREEMENT FILED
Jack C. Dunfee, Attorney representing American Realty, Inc.,
submitted to the Board a Petition for Annexation and Annexation
Agreement regarding Kensington Farms East. Mr. Dunfee noted that
following a meeting with Deputy City Attorney Robert Parker,
City Engineer, Patrick McMahon, David Wells and Richard Johnson,
it was suggested that there should be a waiver of annexation
included in the agreement. This has now been done. The agreement
is patterned after the agreement between the City and Rose Development
Company. The agreement covers four basic items: that the City
will allow the owner to connect to existing water and sewer mains;
the City will provide police and fire protection to the area as soon
as access roads have been constructed and opened; if the property
is not given A3 Zoning under the Code, the City will not object to
a petition for disannexation; and within a period of fifteen months
after development, if the area is disannexed, the-owner will provide
a waiver of annexation. Mr. Dunfee said, following approval by the
Board of Public Works, the agreement will be submitted to the Common
Council. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the agreement be taken
under advisement for review by the Legal Department, with a report
to be made to the Board on April 3, 1978. Mr. Brunner seconded the
motion and it carried.
RECOMMENDATION TO ACCEPT BID FOR POLICE UNIFORMS
The Board received a recommendation from Michael C. Borkowski, Chief
of Police, that, following review of the bids received for police
uniforms and uniform equipment, Badger Uniform Company is the low
bidder for one issue in uniform for a male officer. There is a
slight difference in the bid price for a female uniform. Chief
Borkowski recommended that the bid of the Badger Uniform Company
be accepted. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen
and carried, the recommendation to award the bid was approved.
REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL AT CORBY- TWYCKENHAM REFERRED FOR REVIEW
The Board received a letter from Councilman Roger Parent regarding
the intersection of Corby Blvd. and.Twyckenham and citing the
number of accidents which have-occurred at that location. Vance, Deputy City Controller, requested authorization
to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for copier
equipment. Mr. Mullen noted that the request involves three units
currently under lease, with lease terms to expire. The new state
law requires bidding for such leased items. Upon motion made by
Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was
approved and the Clerk was directed to advertise for bids, with
sealed bids to be received on April 10, 1978.
