u r' REGULAR MEETING AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY BIKE- A -THON ROUTE APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the BL reported to the Board that the route Society Bike- A -Thon to be held on Apr with the Police Department and is acc portion of the route outside the City approved by the County Commissioners. REPORT OF CLEAN -UP CREW FILED The report of the Environmental Clean -Up Crew for January was submitted to the Board by Joseph Gawrysiak, Director of the Division of Transportation, and Ed Nowak, Foreman. The report indicated two properties cleaned at the direction of the Board with thirteen loads hauled to the dump; twenty -seven loads on Christmas tree pick -up; hauling snow - thirty -seven loads; with the balance of the time spent on snow control, cleaning of crosswalks in the. downtown area and plowing of city -owned parking lots and the Century Center lot. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. Mr. Mullen requested a report on the progress of collection of charges for the cleaning of properties. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage report for the period February 23 to March 1 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated fourteen outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was ordered filed. FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE - GATESWAY LEASING COMPANY A Certificate of Insurance on behalf of Gatesway Leasing Company was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the certificate was filed. LETTER DIRECTED TO HIGHWAY COMMISSION RE: CHUCKHOLES ON STATE ROUTES The Board discussed the large number of chuckholes on State Routes in the City and on the approaches to the City. Mr. Brunner noted that the routes are in deplorable condition and he suggested that a letter be sent from the Board to the Indiana State Highway Commission, with a copy to Governor Bowen, requesting that immediate attention be given to the patching of chuckholes on State Routes. The Engineering Department is to inspect the routes today and request that those in the worst condition be given priority by the State. The letter is to indicate that the City should be notified immediately if the State cannot take action at once to repair the State Routes.
