Mullen <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />REPORT ON ALLEY BETWEEN CITY PARKING LOT AND JEFFERSON BLVD. <br />The Board requested an inspection of the alley between the City <br />Parking Lot at 117 S. Lafayette and Jefferson Blvd., following <br />a complaint received from Councilman Mary Christine Adams. <br />John DeLee, Building Commissioner, provided the Board with a copy <br />of a "Cease and Desist" order, dated February 27, 1978, sent to <br />Centurion Fire and Safety Equipment Company, 315 W. Jefferson Blvd. <br />The notice advised the Company that they must not allow any substance <br />to flow from their building into. the public alley, creating a public <br />nuisance. The "Cease and Desist" order must be complied with <br />by March 8, 1978. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the letter was filed and the Board requested <br />a follow -up inspection and written report from Mr. DeLee for the <br />meeting of March 13. <br />REQUEST FOR REPAIRS TO 1820 S. MICHIGAN STREET RECEIVED <br />The Board received a letter from Marzy Bauer, Director of ACTION, <br />Inc., lessee of Old Fire Station Eight, 1820 S. Michigan, <br />outlining the deficiencies of the structure. Ms. Bauer noted a <br />number of repairs must be made. Rental of the building is an in -kind <br />contribution from the City of South Bend. Ms. Bauer requested that <br />the Board make the necessary repairs to the building or enter into <br />a contract to have the work done. She suggested that revenue sharing <br />funds might be used. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the letter be <br />filed and referred to Peter H. Mullen, City Controller, for review <br />and recommendation and that John DeLee, Building Commissioner, have <br />the building inspected and make a report to the Board. Mr. Brunner <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />NOTICE OF RESOLUTION OF INDIANA STATE HIGHT67AY COMMISSION <br />RE:- INTERSECTION OF WESTERN AVENUE AND LOMBARDY DRIVE <br />A Resolution of the Indiana State Highway Commission, approved on <br />February 16, 1978, was submitted to the Board. The Resolution <br />provides that, in the event of flashing of signals, this signal <br />shall flash red to all approaches. All traffic on all approaches <br />shall stop before entering the intersection. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the resolution <br />was filed, with a copy to be sent to Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager <br />Df the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />
