• <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 6, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, Plarch 6, 1978 by President Patrick M. McMahon <br />with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy <br />City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. McMahon reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the <br />February 27 meeting of the Board and he made a motion that the <br />minutes be approved as submitted. Mr. " 4ullen seconded the motion <br />and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CAB, CHASSIS AND PACKER, SOLID WASTE DEPT. <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for one cab, chassis and <br />packer for the Bureau of Solid Waste. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />International Harvester Bid was signed by M. A. Grady, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - 1978 International S -2554, with <br />18 Yard Packer Body $31,668.00 <br />Less Trade -In 1,000.00, <br />Net <br />$30,668.00 <br />Shamrock Ford Truck Sales, Inc. Bid was signed by B. S. Ti- nkham, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - 1978 Ford LN8000 $32,485.50 <br />Less Trade -In 300.00 <br />Net $32,185.50 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to John Stancati, Director of <br />Utilities, for review and recommendation. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - REVENUE SHARING APPROPRIATION- POLICE MERIT PLAN <br />This was the date set for a public hearing on the following <br />Revenue Sharing Anpropriation: <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $10,000.00 FROM THE FEDERAL <br />ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMZIONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL <br />REVENUE SHARING, FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES, <br />TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH <br />THE BUREAU OF POLICE <br />The-Clerk tendered proofs of publication of, notice in the._South <br />Bend Tribune which were found to be sufficient. Mr. McMahon <br />noted that the ordinance has been filed with the Common Council <br />and set for public hearing on March 13, 1978. In accordance with <br />guidelines_established for such appropriations, information <br />about this public hearing has been forwarded to the following <br />senior citizen groups with the request that the notice be posted <br />for the members: Foster Grandparents, Hansel Neighborhood Service <br />J <br />1 <br />LJ <br />
