REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 27, 1978 <br />ADVERTISING FOR BIDS FOR POLICE UNIFORMS APPROVED <br />Chief Michael Borkowski submitted to the Board detailed <br />specifications for police uniforms and uniform equipment <br />and requested that the Board advertise for bids. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />Board approved the request and directed that the Clerk advertise <br />for bids with sealed bids to be received on March 20, 1978. <br />RIGHT OF WAY DEDICATION IN AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK ACCEPTED <br />A Deed of Dedication for streets, drainage, storm water retention <br />basin and easements in Phase III and IV of the Airport Industrial <br />Park was submitted to the Board by Howard Bessire of the <br />Industrial Foundation. The Board reviewed the dedication and a <br />drawing of the area, located at Bendix Drive, Lathrop and <br />Foundation Court in the Industrial Park. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Dedication <br />was accepted. <br />CONSULTING AGREEMENT WITH RAYMOND S. ANDRYSIAK, P. E., APPROVED <br />A Consulting Agreement between the <br />S. Andrysiak, P. The agreement <br />to be provided by Mr. Andrysiak <br />This is a standard consulting <br />the Legal Department and the <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />reement was approved. <br />35 <br />APPLICATION OF DISCOVERY HALL TO AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF MUSEUMS APPROVED <br />Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, submitted to the <br />Board an application to the American Association of Museums to <br />begin the procedure for making Discovery Hall an accredited museum. <br />Mr. Welsh said this is a lengthy procedure but will provide added <br />incentive and set certain standards for Discovery Hall. He noted <br />that federal grants for museums are available but usually it is <br />required that the applicant be accredited. Mr. Mullen inquired <br />whether this accreditation would set guidelines or standards which <br />Discovery Hall would have to meet and whether changes in the Museum <br />or its operation would have to be approved by this Association. <br />Mr. Welch said the Association would not become involved in the <br />operation of Discovery Hall but an applicant must meet certain <br />requirements in order to become accredited. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board <br />authorized Mr. McMahon to sign the application. <br />ADDENDUM TO CONTRACT WITH MURPHY ENGINEERING APPROVED <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the <br />Board an addendum to the contract with Murphy Engineering for <br />the Michigan -Main Connector. He noted that the City entered into <br />this contract on July 30, 1975 for preliminary work on the connector, <br />but that procedure was halted. Now as a result of future downtown <br />area plans, the City is going to proceed. The 'plans were submitted <br />to the Indiana State Highway Commission and they have suggested <br />certain alterati.oris.- The addendum revises the scope of services <br />eliminating some of the preliminary work. The fee rate was <br />established five years ago and they have requested an increase in <br />charges. The increase will not change the total dollar amount <br />of the agreement. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the Addendum was approved. <br />
