2 () <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 20, 1978 <br />LETTER FILED RE: HOLE IN ALLEY BEHIND CITY PARKING LOT <br />The Board received a letter from Councilman Mary Christine Adams <br />regarding a large hole in the ice in the alley between the City <br />Parking Lot at 117 S. Lafayette and Jefferson Blvd. The hole <br />is adjacent to the building being used by Centurion Fire Alarm. <br />Systems and the letter indicated that the company was dumping a <br />solution from a pipe in their building into the alley. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the letter was filed and referred to John DeLee, Building <br />Commissioner and Thomas Niemier, Inspector in the Bureau of Engineering, <br />with the request that they coordinate the necessary inspections and <br />actions to correct this situation. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS APPROVED <br />The Board received requests to approve dates for the following <br />activities planned for River Bend Plaza: <br />1. Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 18, 1978. Tentative time <br />9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. <br />2. Observance of National Secretaries Week on Wednesday, April <br />26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. <br />Q 3. Dyngus Day on the Plaza on Monday, March 27 from 12:00 noon <br />to 1:00 D.M. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the dates were an subject to the filing of necessary <br />certificates of insurance. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended the following installations: <br />A. Revise Yield Sign to Stop Sign on Catherwood at York. Existing <br />signage is obsolete. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />B. Install Stop Sign on Catherwood at Alpine, a previously <br />uncontrolled intersection. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />C. Revise Yield Sign to Stop Sign on Catherwood at Brookton, as <br />existing signage is obsolete. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was <br />approved. <br />D. Install Stop Sign on Oakdale at Brockton, a previously <br />uncontrolled intersection. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />E. Revise Yield Sign to Stop Sign on Oakdale at York Road. Existing <br />signage does not conform to field conditions. Recommended control <br />more closely warranted by stop sign. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />
