20 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1978 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on <br />Monday, February 6, 1978 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, <br />Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was <br />also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the January 23, 1978 <br />meeting and he made a motion that they be approved.- Mr. McMahon seconded the <br />motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - AERIAL TRUCK FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />January 30, 1978 was the date set for receiving bids for an aerial truck for the <br />Fire Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. Because <br />of adverse weather conditions, it was not possible to hold a meeting on January <br />30. The Clerk advised the Board that all bidders who received bid specifications <br />were notified by telephone on January 31, 1978 and by notice mailed on that date <br />that the bid opening had been delayed until today and that any bids received in <br />the Office of the Board before 9:30 a.m. today, February 6, 1978, would be <br />considered. Casse, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by B. S. Tinkham, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by R. J. Schuster, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a certified check in the amount of <br />$12,322.00 was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Nick D. Swartz, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Ronald I. Delcamp, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bids <br />were referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />
