REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 3, 1978 <br />B. Install Stop Sign on Brookfield at Lathrop, an uncontrolled "tee" <br />intersection. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the installation was approved. <br />C. Install Stop Sign on Huey at Lathrop, an uncontrolled "tee" intersection. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />installation was approved. <br />D. Install Stop Sign on Elmer at Lathrop, an uncontrolled "tee" intersection. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />installation was approved. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Mr. McMahon advised the Board that an additional traffic control request had <br />been submitted after posting of the agenda. He made a motion that the request <br />be added to the agenda as Item 12E. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted <br />to the Board a recommendation to install No Parking on both sides of Walnut <br />from Prairie Avenue north 50' to provide for intersection maneuverability. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that Councilman Walter Kopczynski had requested this matter <br />be investigated pointing out that a church in that location causes on- street <br />parking in this area making turns difficult because the street is narrow. <br />Mr. McMahon said the church has no off - street parking facilities. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation <br />of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the No Parking installation was approved. <br />STREET LIGHT REQUESTS <br />Councilman Robert Taylor submitted to the Board the following street light <br />requests: <br />A. Installation of a street light at 162+ Kendall Street. The area is very <br />dark and a high crime area. Resident at that address would not object to <br />placement of a light on his property. <br />B. Miami Street merchants have requested increased candlepower in the lighting <br />on Miami Street, between Indiana Avenue and Ewing Avenue. <br />C. Residents of Lincolnway East are requesting increased candlepower in the <br />lighting on Lincolnway East, between Twyckenham and Ironwood. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the requests <br />were referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />i1L1116W:12 7 -111ri 7f <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that the <br />following bonds were submitted in proper form and could be approved: <br />A. Excavation Bond - Taylor Construction Company <br />B. Contractor's Bond - Taylor Construction Company <br />C. Excavation Bond - Stickler Plumbing & Heating Company <br />D. Excavation Bond - Donald Madaras d /b /a Speedy Sewer Cleaners <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bonds <br />were approved. <br />
