M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 17. 1980 <br />37 4' <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />Steel Fabricating Division Bid was signed by R. E. Zawlocki, <br />of Midland Corporation non - collusion affidavit was in <br />911 Cleveland Street order, and a 5% bid bond was <br />Mishawaka, Indiana submitted. <br />Metal Fabrications - Bid Package #108 $95,500.00 <br />Mr. McMahon stated that certain alternates outlined in the bid <br />proposal called for a reduction in the bid amount, but also <br />omitted certain items which were specified. He indicated that <br />the total amount of the omissions amounted to a reduction of <br />$29,875.00. <br />St. Joseph Valley Structural Bid was signed by Dean R. Kelly, <br />Steel Corporation non - collusion affidavit was in <br />1203 Kent Street order, and a 5% bid bond was <br />Elkhart, Indiana submitted. <br />Metal Fabrications - Bid Package #108 $102,700.00 <br />Mr. David Jahn of Sollitt Construction Company explained that the <br />budget amount for the metal fabrications project was $20,500.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the bids were rejected. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - AMBULANCE AND RELATED EQUIPMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for an ambulance and <br />related equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Excellance, Inc. Bid was signed by D.M. Fridlin, <br />P. 0. Box 733 non- collusion affidavit was in <br />Carmel, Indiana order, and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Type 1 Ambulance, aluminum construction, <br />mounted on 1980 Chevrolet chassis $41, 969.00 each <br />Trade -in allowance $1,000.00 <br />Alternate Bid #1 <br />Type 1 Ambulance, aluminum construction, <br />mounted on 1980 Chevrolet chassis $45,530.00 <br />Trade -in allowance $1,000.00 <br />Plus optional equipment. <br />Butler Coach Company, Inc. <br />8401 West Washington Street <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46231 <br />Bid was signed by Jack R. Trusty, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in <br />order, and a 10% bid bond was <br />attached. <br />Type 1 Ambulance, modular type vehicle <br />with 1980 Chevrolet chassis (modular <br />body built by Horton Company) <br />Trade -in allowance $1,500.00 <br />*Type 1 Ambulance, modular type vehicle <br />1980 Chevrolet, aluminum construction <br />(modular body built by Wheeled Coach) <br />Trade -in allowance $1,500.00 <br />Plus optional equipment. <br />$41,558.00 <br />$40,532.00 <br />*It was noted that the alternate bid takes complete exception to <br />the specifications. <br />
