Innovation Park I Project Future I South Bend, IN
R..
.a
daze
Cultivating the life sciences
Innovation Park in South Bend creates
opportunities for new life sciences
companies to be successful by providing
research and office space and the support
needed to get started. The environment
is designed to foster growth of research
activity and encourage innovation.
The Innovation Park campus plan includes
four new buildings, conveniently located
adjacent to the University of Notre Dame.
This proximity encourages collaboration
and connection with university
researchers. Inside the buildings, start -up
companies have their own offices and lab
spaces as well as support spaces —such
as administrative and conference
facilities —that are shared by all building
occupants.
Key to the project's success is the
collaboration of multiple stakeholders,
including Project Future, the University
of Notre Dame, South Bend's Northeast
Neighborhood Association and the City of
South Bend. BSA LifeStructures worked
with all of the project stakeholders to
determine feasibility, to plan the campus,
to program the facility and to estimate
construction costs and schedule. The
result is a preliminary design for flexible
facilities that can adapt as research and
technology change, as start -up companies
graduate and as new companies move in.
Construction is to be completed in three
phases.
Size
250,000 SF (new) - 0 SF (renovated)
