REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 18, 1980 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, February 18, 1980, by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. McMahon and carried, the minutes of the February 11, 1980, meeting of the Board were approved as submitted. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3486 - CONFIR4ED This was the date set for holding a public hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 3486, for the vacation of a 15 foot easement, being 72 feet (measured at right angles) on either side of the Easterly line of Lot 6 (being also the Westerly line of Lot 5) as shown on the recorded plat of Ireland Woods Subdivision, Section One as recorded in the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. It was noted that a notice had been sent to all public and private utilities and property owners in the vicinity of the proposed vacation. Mr. McMahon indicated that letters from Indiana Cablevision, Indiana Bell Telephone, Indiana & Michigan Electric and Northern Indiana Public Service had been received releasing the rights of the foregoing utilities on the above - described property. Letters had also been received by the various city agencies indicating that there was no objection to the proposed vacation of the easement. Mr. J. Bernard Feeney of Lang, Feeney and Associates, indicated that, as of this date, releases have been received and recorded from Indiana Cablevision, Indiana Bell and I & M. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the Board confirmed the Vacation Resolution and ordered the preparation of the Assessment Roll. PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3484 (ALLEY RUNNING EAST FROM CLOVER) This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3484 for the vacation of the second east -west alley between Lots 46 and 47 North of Northside Boulevard, running east from Clover 111.5` to the north - south alley. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net benefits and $0.00 net damages to abutting property. No remonstrators were present and no written remonstrances were filed with the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Assessment Roll was approved and said resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. BID AWARDED - JANITORIAL SERVICES, POLICE DEPARTMENT Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, recom- mended that the low bid of Associated Cleaning Services in the amount of $16,354.56 be awarded. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the low bid of $16,354.56 was awarded to Associated Cleaning Services. 11 LI
