REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 18, 1980 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, February 18, 1980, by President Patrick <br />M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph <br />E. Kernan present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also <br />present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. McMahon and <br />carried, the minutes of the February 11, 1980, meeting of the <br />Board were approved as submitted. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3486 - CONFIR4ED <br />This was the date set for holding a public hearing on Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3486, for the vacation of a 15 foot easement, <br />being 72 feet (measured at right angles) on either side of the <br />Easterly line of Lot 6 (being also the Westerly line of Lot 5) <br />as shown on the recorded plat of Ireland Woods Subdivision, <br />Section One as recorded in the Office of the Recorder of St. <br />Joseph County, Indiana. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. It was noted that a notice had been <br />sent to all public and private utilities and property owners in <br />the vicinity of the proposed vacation. Mr. McMahon indicated <br />that letters from Indiana Cablevision, Indiana Bell Telephone, <br />Indiana & Michigan Electric and Northern Indiana Public Service <br />had been received releasing the rights of the foregoing utilities <br />on the above - described property. Letters had also been received <br />by the various city agencies indicating that there was no objection <br />to the proposed vacation of the easement. Mr. J. Bernard Feeney <br />of Lang, Feeney and Associates, indicated that, as of this date, <br />releases have been received and recorded from Indiana Cablevision, <br />Indiana Bell and I & M. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the Board confirmed the Vacation Resolution and ordered <br />the preparation of the Assessment Roll. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION <br />NO. 3484 (ALLEY RUNNING EAST FROM CLOVER) <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll <br />with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3484 for the vacation of <br />the second east -west alley between Lots 46 and 47 North of <br />Northside Boulevard, running east from Clover 111.5` to the north - <br />south alley. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net benefits <br />and $0.00 net damages to abutting property. No remonstrators <br />were present and no written remonstrances were filed with the <br />Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the Assessment Roll was approved and said resolution <br />is in all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />BID AWARDED - JANITORIAL SERVICES, POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, recom- <br />mended that the low bid of Associated Cleaning Services in the <br />amount of $16,354.56 be awarded. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the low bid of <br />$16,354.56 was awarded to Associated Cleaning Services. <br />11 <br />LI <br />
