REGULAR MEETING <br />APPROVAL OF HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />JANUARY 7, 1980 <br />Mr. McMahon indicated that approval of the Board was requested for, <br />issuance of three handicapped parking permits as follows: <br />Georgia Zehender <br />607 Coronation Gardens <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />Sheila Ann Mullen <br />4322 Hickory Road, Apt. 2 -D <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 <br />Jack Benedict <br />1021 Canterbury <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />It was noted that a doctor's <br />certificate was attached. <br />It was noted that this was a <br />renewal. <br />It was noted that a doctor's <br />certificate is attached. <br />311 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />parking permits for the above named individuals were approved and <br />referred to the Controller's Office for issuance, <br />APPROVAL OF CETA SUBGRANT AGREEMENTS - HUMANE SOCIETY AND ART CENTER <br />Mr. McMahon indicated that the modification for the Humane Society <br />contract extended through November 29, 1979, with associated increases <br />in wages. The total project was in the amount of $2,165. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, retroactive <br />approval was granted. <br />Mr. McMahon indicated that the contract with the Art Center was for <br />a period from December 17, 1979, through September 30, 1980, in the <br />amount of $6,700 to fund a secretary- receptionist position at the Art <br />Center. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the contract was approved. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE <br />Mr. McMahon indicated that certificates of insurance for the following <br />organizations had been received: <br />South Bend Shrine Club - 126 West Marion Street <br />Colip Electric Corporation - 115 South Hill Street <br />Koontz - Wagner Electric and South Bend Controls, Inc. - <br />3801 Voorde Drive <br />Morse Electric - 712 North Niles Avenue <br />Arco Engineering Construction - 705 Beiger Street, Mishawaka <br />Cole Associates - 2211 East Jefferson Boulevard <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the certificates of insurance were filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />Mr. McMahon indicated that the report covered the period from <br />December 16, 1979, through December 31, 1979. Mr. McMahon made a <br />motion to file the reports, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried. He <br />further explained that part of the contract written in 1968 or there- <br />abouts included provisions for the reporting of street light outages. <br />The reports are filed and originals forwarded to I & M. They then <br />deduct from the monthly billing those street lights which are reported <br />to be out until the lights have been repaired. He stated that the <br />contract with I & M has been extended from year to year because <br />there has been no specific action by the Board to renew it. <br />
