REGULAR MEETING <br />COMMUNICATION RE: PARKING AROUND IUSB <br />47 <br />NOVEMBER 5, 1979 <br />The Board received and filed correspondence from Preface, the <br />IUSB Student Newspaper, regarding the parking problem around <br />IUSB and expressing concern if the street parking in the area <br />is taken away. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT SUMMIT AND WESTERN <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board an agreement with the Indiana State <br />Highway Commission for the signalization of the intersection at <br />Summit and Western. Mr. Wadzinski noted that-the City petitioned <br />the Highway Commission for approval of this intersection and the <br />agreement has now been received. The agreements have been reviewed <br />and found acceptable and approval was recommended. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />Board approved the agreement and it will be forwarded to the State <br />Highway Commission for signature. Mr. McMahon noted receipt of <br />a letter from Annette Leszczynski expressing concern about recent <br />accidents at this intersection and requesting that the City <br />install a signal. The Board directed that Ms. Leszczynski be <br />advised of the agreement approved today for installation of the signal. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board the following requests for traffic control <br />devices: <br />A. Install Tow Zone, Both sides of 100 W. Monroe (to be an <br />addition to existing 1 hour parking limit, 9 am to 3 pm, No <br />Parking, 2 AM -6 AM and 3PM -6PM) <br />B. Install 2 hour parking 6 AM -6PM, No Parking 2 AM -6 AM- <br />West 2 block of the south side of 200 West Monroe <br />C. Install 1 Hour Parking 9 AM -3 PM, No Parking 2 AM -9 AM & <br />3 PM- 6PM Tow Zone, North side of 200 West Monroe <br />D. Install 15 minute parking, No Parking 2 AM -6 AM, three <br />spaces on East 2 block on South Side of 200 West Monroe <br />(Bus station) <br />E. Install 15 minute limit, West side of 500 S. Main St., the <br />spaces located from Monroe Street south to the bus station <br />driveway (2) <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved the recommendations. <br />OPEN AIR STAND APPROVED <br />The Board received an application from Frank Perri to operate an <br />Open Air Stand on Logan Street, one block West of Jefferson, for <br />the sale of Christmas trees for the month of December. Written <br />permission of the property owner was attached to the application. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the application was approved. <br />
