228 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 19. 1979 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 1979 by President Patrick McMahon, <br />with Mr. McMahon, Mr, Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the purpose of the special meeting is to <br />award bids for the Garage Portion of the First Bank Center. The <br />following recommendation was submitted by Mr, McMahon: <br />"The bids received October 1, 1979 by the Board of Public <br />Works for the garage portion of the First Bank Center have <br />been reviewed by the Architect (C.F. Murphy Associates), the <br />Construction Manager (Sollit't Construction Company, Inc.) <br />and this office. Based upon this review, the following <br />recommendations for award are made: <br />CONTRACT 105 - STRIPING <br />No award. To be re -bid at a later date upon finalization <br />of parking layout. <br />CONTRACT 106 -107. STRUCTURAL CONCRETE & MASONRY <br />To: H. G. Christman Construction Co., Inc. <br />Bid: $2,464,000.00 <br />CONTRACT 108 - METAL FABRICATIONS <br />No award. To be re -bid, The bids received were of a dollar <br />figure that far exceeded the scope of the required work. <br />CONTRACT 109 - CARPENTRY <br />To: Harry H. Verkler Contractors <br />Bid: $9,400.00 <br />CONTRACT 110 - STANDARD STEEL DOORS & FRAMES <br />To: J. W. Werntz & Sons <br />Bid: $7,250.00 <br />CONTRACT 111 - FINISH HARDWARE <br />To: J. W. Werntz & Son <br />Bid: $2,650.00 <br />CONTRACT 112 - HYDRAULIC ELEVATOR <br />To: Schindler - Haughton Elevator Corporation <br />Bid: $38,506.00 <br />Award: $35,356.00 (Change in Door Finish) <br />CONTRACT 113 - PLUMBING <br />To: Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc, <br />Bid: $89,186.00 <br />Award: $83,000.00 (Miscellaneous Plumbing Modifications) <br />
