WR <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOT FILED <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 1979 <br />DeVere Goheen submitted a letter to the Board requesting <br />information about the possible purchase of a city -owned lot <br />at 910 S. Columbia Street. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the letter was filed and <br />referred to the Department of Engineering, Park Department, <br />Redevelopment Department and Mayor's Office for review and a <br />determination as to whether the lot should be retained for any <br />purpose. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />J. J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended the following installations: <br />A. Installation of a No Parking Zone on the north side of Ridgedale, <br />between Miami and High, at the request of the Stanley Clark <br />School. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. <br />B. Installation of a 25 MPH Speed. Limit on Woodmont, between <br />Springbrook and Tudor, as the result of a speed study. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the installation was approved. <br />REPORT FILED - BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted the following report concerning requests made <br />by Councilman Joseph Serge: <br />In response to the request for Watch Children signs on King Street, <br />between Portage and Anderson, the signs have been installed. In <br />response to the request for Dead -End Signs at the intersection of <br />Olive, Elmer, Huey, Johnson and Brookfield at Lathrop, the Bureau <br />reported that these are not dead -ends but are tee intersections. <br />The installation of double arrow signs at each intersection has been <br />ordered. The Indiana and Michigan Electric Company was contacted <br />regarding a street light out at 1902 Kessler Boulevard and has <br />advised that repairs will be made as soon as possible. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />report was filed and ordered transmitted to Mr. Serge. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Chief Deputy Auditor Michael L. Vance submitted to the Board Claim <br />Docket Numbers 17777 through 18261 and recommended approval. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 17777 through 18261 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT APPROVED <br />Sara Allison, 1331 E. Ewing, submitted an application for a <br />Handicapped Parking Permit. Attached to the application was <br />a doctor's statement. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the application was approved and referred <br />to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of the permit. <br />1 <br />
