o REGULAR MEETING A regular meeting of the Board 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. MINUTES APPROVED SEPTEMBER 10. 1979 of Public Works was convened at 10, 1979 by President Patrick M. Brunner and Mr, Mullen present. Crone was also present. Mr. Mullen reported that the minutes of the September 4 meeting had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be approved, Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried, OPENING OF BIDS - CLEVELAND ROAD TRUNK SEWER This was the date set for receiving bids for the Cleveland Road Trunk Sewer. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor Mishawaka, Indiana Bid - $620,630.00 Woodruff and Sons, Inc. Michigan City, Indiana Bid - $769,116.00 Warner and Sons, Inc. Elkhart, Indiana Bid - $793,187.00 Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, non-collusion affidavit Ua.s in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by Frederick Woodruff, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by Jack Warner, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted with the bid, Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon,, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bids were referred to the Department of Engineering for review and recommendation. BID AWARDED - POLICE RADIOS The Board received a'recommendation from Police Chief Michael C. Borkowski and Glenn`Zubler., Director of Communications, that following review of the only'bid received from General Electric it was found acceptable. The bid was in the amount of $918.50 for each portable radio, $31.50 per battery and $31.50 per charger. A Criminal Justice Grant application has been made to fund the purchase. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bid was accepted, subject to approval of the funding. BID AWARDED - EMULSIFIED ASPHALT Joseph Gawrysiak, Director of Transportation, that the bids received for emulsified asphalt The product bid by the low bidder, Bituminous used and is acceptable and it was recommended Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by the low bid of Bituminous Materials of $.4527 asphalt for 1979 was accepted, reported to the Board had been reviewed.
