o <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />A regular meeting of the Board <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, September <br />McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry A. <br />MINUTES APPROVED <br />SEPTEMBER 10. 1979 <br />of Public Works was convened at <br />10, 1979 by President Patrick M. <br />Brunner and Mr, Mullen present. <br />Crone was also present. <br />Mr. Mullen reported that the minutes of the September 4 meeting had <br />been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be approved, <br />Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried, <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CLEVELAND ROAD TRUNK SEWER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the Cleveland Road <br />Trunk Sewer. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />Bid - $620,630.00 <br />Woodruff and Sons, Inc. <br />Michigan City, Indiana <br />Bid - $769,116.00 <br />Warner and Sons, Inc. <br />Elkhart, Indiana <br />Bid - $793,187.00 <br />Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, <br />non-collusion affidavit Ua.s in <br />order and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Frederick <br />Woodruff, non - collusion affidavit <br />was in order and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Jack Warner, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a certified check was <br />submitted with the bid, <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon,, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the bids were referred to the Department of Engineering for review <br />and recommendation. <br />BID AWARDED - POLICE RADIOS <br />The Board received a'recommendation from Police Chief Michael C. <br />Borkowski and Glenn`Zubler., Director of Communications, that following <br />review of the only'bid received from General Electric it was found <br />acceptable. The bid was in the amount of $918.50 for each portable <br />radio, $31.50 per battery and $31.50 per charger. A Criminal Justice <br />Grant application has been made to fund the purchase. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bid <br />was accepted, subject to approval of the funding. <br />BID AWARDED - EMULSIFIED ASPHALT <br />Joseph Gawrysiak, Director of Transportation, <br />that the bids received for emulsified asphalt <br />The product bid by the low bidder, Bituminous <br />used and is acceptable and it was recommended <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />the low bid of Bituminous Materials of $.4527 <br />asphalt for 1979 was accepted, <br />reported to the Board <br />had been reviewed. <br />Materials, has been <br />that the bid be accepted. <br />Ar. Mullen and carried, <br />per gallon for emulsified <br />
