The
portion of the roadway being conveyed contains 1.06 miles. Mr.
Wadzinski advised the Board that the City made certain requests
for improvements to the roadway and they have been met by the
State, with the exception of a guardrail on the east side of
Mayflower and it is anticipated that will be resolved prior to
formal transfer of the route to the City. Upon motion made by
Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Road Transfer
Agreement was approved, subject to resolving of the guard rail
problem.
SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET - TWYCKENHAM BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION
The title sheet approving the plans for the Twyckenham Bridge
Reconstruction was submitted to the Board. This is a joint project
with St. Joseph County and the title sheet has been approved by the
County Commissioners. It is now submitted to the Board for approval
of that portion within its jurisdiction. It is anticipated
that work will begin this winter. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon,
seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the title sheet approving
the plans was approved.
REQUEST TO USE FIRE APPARATUS APPROVED
Fire Chief Oscar Van Wiele submitted to the Board a request from
the Muscular Dystrophy Association to use fire apparatus on Labor
Day in connection with a fundraising activity. The Chief recommended
approval of the request. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded
by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was approved.
Mr. McMahon left the meeting at 9:50 a.m.
SUBGRANT MODIFICATION APPROVED
Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Director of the Bureau of Manpower and Training,
submitted to the Board a modification to the Subgrant Agreement with
the Urban League.
