�ID0 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT APPROVED <br />AUGUST 13, 1979 <br />Joseph Troutman, 2403 E. Corby, submitted an application for <br />a Handicapped Parking Permit. A doctor's statement was attached <br />to the application. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the application was approved and <br />referred to the Deputy City Controller's Office for review and <br />recommendation. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS <br />Michele Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted the <br />following requests to the Board: <br />A. Khalin Muhammad, World Community of Islam in the West, <br />made application to hold a Demonstration and Distribution <br />of Literature on River Bend Plaza on September lst and <br />to conduct a fund raising activity on the Plaza on the <br />same date. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the applications were referred to <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone for review and <br />recommendation. <br />B. Hobo's Carry -Out submitted a request to park a vehicle <br />on River Bend Plaza to sell various food items. The Board <br />discussed the request and similar requests which have been <br />received in the past. It was determined that the request <br />should be denied since it wouldf involve parking a vehicle <br />on the Plaza on a temporary basis and, consistent with <br />previous Board "action, such requests have not been granted. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the request was denied. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Deputy City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted to the.Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 15467 to 16064 and recommended approval. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 15467 through 16064 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued, <br />CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FILED <br />Certificates of Insurance for Ritschard Brothers and North American <br />Signs were submitted to the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the certificates were filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period July 23 to July 27 <br />was submitted to the Board. The report indicated seven outages. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - 1800 MARINE STREET <br />Carol Edgell submitted a request to the Board to block the <br />1800 block Marine Street, from Randolph to Calvert, on Sunday <br />September 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. for a Block Party. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and'Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail <br />for review and recommendation. <br />
