164 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 1979 <br />APPLICATION FOR SCRAP DEALER'S LICENSE FILED <br />The Board received an application for a Scrap Dealer's License <br />from the North Side Iron and Paper Company. The location applied <br />for is 3123 Gertrude Street, at a previously approved site. The <br />Company will be using a portion of a building presently being <br />used by Western Avenue Iron and Metal Company under their own <br />license. The site has been approved by the Fire Prevention Bureau. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the application was filed and referred to Deputy City <br />Attorney James A. Masters for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO REOPEN PETITION FOR PAVING OF ALLEY <br />Stanley Wesolowski, 2170 Parkview Place, submitted a request to <br />reopen the petition filed with the Board to pave the alley between <br />Riverside Drive and Parkview Place,.from Woodlawn Boulevard to <br />Oakwood Boulevard. It was noted that this petition was before the <br />Board in 1977 and was denied following remonstrances from the <br />property owners. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board filed the request and requested the <br />Engineering Department to prepare an Improvement Resolution and <br />update the engineer's estimate for the project so that a public <br />hearing on the improvement can be held. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON JAMESTOWN COURT FILED <br />The Board received a request 'from Richard Thomas to hold a Block <br />Party in the 4700 block Jamestown,Court on `Saturday, August 25 <br />from 9:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.' Upon.,.mot on -made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUESTS TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY FILED <br />The Board received the following requests to purchase city -owned <br />property: <br />A. The Believers Church of God in Christ inquired regarding the <br />lots at 525 and 527 Pennsylvania Street. <br />B. Roosevelt Fuller inquired regarding the lot at 412 W. Monroe <br />Street. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the requests were filed and referred to the Mayor's Office, <br />Engineering Department, Community Development Department, Park <br />Department. and Redevelopment Department for review and a <br />determination as to whether the lots should be retained for anv <br />purpose. <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT APPROVED - SALE OF 329 -331 CUSHING <br />A purchase agreement for the sale of city -owned property at'329- <br />331 N.Cushing Street was prepared by Deputy City Attorney Terry <br />A. Crone and submitted to prospective purchasers Joyce Hoff_ and <br />Joseph Shula for approval. The lot is offered for sale at $776.00.. <br />The Agreement,..has now been signed by the purchasers and is submitted <br />to the Board for approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the purchase agreement <br />and referred it to Deputy City Attorney Terry A.
