A 1 REGULAR MEETING JULY 30, 1979 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m, on Monday, July 30, 1979 by president Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. REVIEW OF MINUTES Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of July 23 were approved as submitted. AGENDA ITEMS ADDED Mr. McMahon noted receipt of a number of items after the posting of the meeting agenda. He made a motion that a Handicapped Parking Permit request, Certificate of Insurance and an Excavation Bond be added to the agenda at this time. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. OPENING OF BIDS EMULSIFIED ASPHALT This was the date for receiving bids for Emulsified Asphalt for the Street Department for 1979. The Clerk tendered proofs of publica- tion of notice in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Emulsion Products, Inc. Bid was signed by M. D. Mishawaka, Indiana Seltenright, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a bid bond was submitted. Bid - 600,000 gal, emulsified asphalt for slag, $.52 per gal., total $312,000.00 600,000 gal. emulsified asphalt for limestone, $.48 per gal., total $288,0.00.00 FIRM BID Bid - 600,000 gal. emulsified asphalt for slag, $.50 per gala, total $300,000.00 600,000 gal. emulsified asphalt for limestone, $.46 per gal., total $276,000,00 Escalator clause applies in this bid. with an increase of asphalt in the amount of $5.00 per ton, the gal. price in this bid will increase 2(,% per gal. 7/30/79 Bituminous Materials Co., Inc. Bid was signed by Philip Warsaw, Indiana Ehrman, non-collusion- affidavit was in order and a bid bond was submitted.
