REGULAR MEETING 91 JUNE 18, 1979 REQUEST TO USE CITY OWNED PROPERTY FOR.TENT SERVICES REFERRED The Board received a request from Jean Morris to conduct tent services July l through 7 on city -owned property located at the corner of Jefferson and Kenmore Streets in South Bend. This is property owned by the Department of Redevelopment. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the request was referred to the Redevelopment Department for review with the notation that the City has not, in the past, approved such requests for use of city -owned property because of the liability exposure to the City and has recommended that the applicant seek private property for the services. TITLE SHEET APPROVED -BID ADVERTISING APPROVED FOR PHILLIPA ST. Upon motion made by Mr. d carried, the Board signed and authorized advertising for bids. The Board received a request from St. Adalbert's Parish to conduct a Marathon Race on Sunday, August 19 on behalf of Corvilla. It is expected there will be six hundred participants. A route was submitted for review and a certificate of insurance will be filed. Upon motion made by Mr, Brunner, seconded by Mr, McMahon and carried, the request w'as filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Police Department for review and recommendation. APPROVAL OF TITLE SHEET - SCARIFICATION OF VARIOUS STREETS The Title Sheet approving the plans for the curb a.nd'sidewalk reconstruction, scarification and repaving ,of Miami- Street, -from- Altgeld to Indiana and for the scarification and repaving of Rockne Drive, from Ironwood to Twyckenham and Ford Street, from Olive Street to the Railroad was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the title sheet approving the plans was signed. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Michael L. Vance, Chief Deputy Controller, submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 11220 to 11551 and recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 11220 to 11551 and directed that checks for payment be issued, FILING OF REPORT - HUMANE SOCIETY The Humane Society submitted to the Board a report of its' activities for the month of May. The report was submitted in conjunction with the contract between the City of South Bend and the Humane Society. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed and made available for public inspection.
