REGULAR MEETING JUNE 18, 1979 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at. 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 1979 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present and Mr. Mullen absent. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the June 18 meeting of the Board had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be approved as submitted. Mr, McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. OPENING OF BIDS - CARPET AND FLOOR TILE FOR DISCOVERY HALL This was the date set for receiving bids for carpet and floor tile for Discovery Hall Museum. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Powell and Associates Bid was signed by Ronald J. South _Bend, Indiana Powell, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - Part B - Floor Tile - $24,137.00 Interior Finishes, Inc. Bid was signed by Alfred Osceola, Indiana R. Vicsik, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - Part A, Carpeting and Part B, Floor Tile - $43,115.00 Ries Furniture Company Bid was signed by Joseph South Bend, Indiana Fischoff and Milton Ries, non- collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid Part A, Carpeting - $10,346.50 Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the bids were referred to Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - INTEREST RATE FOR LEASE /PURCHASE OF SNORKEL This was the date set for receiving bids for the interest rate for the lease /purchase of a snorkel for the Fire Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Nat -Lea, Inc. Bid was signed by E. B. Wynn, South Bend, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted. Bid -Ten per cent (10 %) - nine semi- annual payments of $24,497.68 and one payment of $25,000.00, with a $1.00 purchase option. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bid was referred to the Controller's Office for review and recommendation.
