76 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 11. 1979 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 9 :30 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 1979 by President Patrick M. <br />McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present and Mr. <br />Mullen absent. Deputy City Attorney James Masters was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the June 4, 1979 meeting <br />had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be <br />approved as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for opening bids for the sale of <br />approximately 200 abandoned vehicles. Bids were accepted until <br />4:45 p.m, on Monday, June 4, 1979. The following bids were <br />opened: <br />Bremen Iron and Metal Company <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Letter bid submitted - $8,040.00 for 200 vehicles <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bid was referred to the City Controller's Office <br />for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for car washes for city <br />vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Comet Car Wash Bid was signed by Stephen Shaw, <br />South Bend, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a certified check is on <br />file with the Board. <br />Bid - Full Service - 0 to 100 units /mo. - $2.05 <br />Full Service - over 100 units /mo. - $1.95 <br />Wet Wash Only 0 to 100 units /mo. - $1.55 <br />Wet Glash Only over 100 units /mo. - $1.45 <br />Hi -Speed Auto Wash Bid was signed by Sam Cossman, <br />South Bend., Indiana non- collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a certified check was <br />submitted, <br />Bid - Full Service - 0 to 100 units /mo. - $2.50 <br />Full Service - over 100 units /mo. - $2.25 <br />No bid submitted for Wet Wash Only <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Controller's Office for <br />review and recommendation. <br />
