REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 29, 1979 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 9:30 a.m, on Tuesday, May 29, 1979 by President Patrick <br />M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr, Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF MAY 21 MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Mullen reported that the minutes of the May 21 meeting had <br />been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be approved <br />as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - DEMOLITION AND /OR REMOVAL OF 428 N. MAIN <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the demolition and /or <br />removal of a structure at 428 N. Main Street, The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />100 Center Development Company <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />The Board received a letter bid from the One Hundred Center <br />Development Company, signed by T. Brooks Brademas, in the amount <br />of $1.00 for the acquisition of the structure located at 428 N. <br />Main Street for the purpose of removing the structure to a location <br />in the West Washington Street Historic Restoration Area. Mr. <br />Brademas_ noted that arrangments have been made with a house mover <br />capable of 'moving the structure and the necessary permits will be <br />secured. He also noted that he had submitted to the Housing Bureau <br />of the City evidence of his ability to restore the structure to the <br />satisfaction of Southhold Restorations, Inc. The letter indicated <br />that removal of the structure would be accomplished no later than <br />June 15, 1979 unless a reasonable extension of time can be secured <br />from the contractor. Mr. Brademas was present and was asked if he <br />felt the house could be removed by June 15. Mr. Brademas said he <br />has spoken to Rieth Riley about the matter and they have indicated <br />they could give him an additional week if necessary. He has <br />contacted Lykowski House Movers regarding the move. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, the Board <br />accepted the bid of 100 Center Development Company of $1.00 for <br />the acquisition and removal of the structure at 428 N. Main Street, <br />subject to securing the necessary permits and filing of an insurance <br />certificate. <br />OPENING OF.BIDS - INSTALLATION OF FENCE AT CITY CEMETERY <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the installation of <br />a fence at City Cemetery. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. Morse, <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />
