29 REGULAR 14EETING APRIL 23, 1979 SECTION 1. The Board of Public Works does hereby authorize and direct the conveyance by Quit -Claim Deed to the Department of Redevelopment of the City of South Bend of real estate and improvements thereon located in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, commonly known as the Odd Fellows Building, and more particularly described as: A Part of Lots Numbered Thirty -five (35) and Thirty -six (36) as shown on the Original Plat of the Town, now City, of South Bend, described as follows, viz: Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot Numbered Thirty -six (36), a distance of 66 feet 10 inches; thence South a distance of 132 feet to the South line of Said lot Numbered Thirty -five (35); thence West along the said South line of Lot Numbered Thirty -five (35), a distance of 66 feet 10 inches to the Southwest corner of said Lot Numbered Thirty -five (35); thence North along the West line of said Lots Numbered Thirty -five (35) and Thirty -six (36), a distance of 132 feet to the place of beginning. Subject to a private alley 10 feet in width, North and South, taken off of and from the entire width of the South side of said tract. Adopted this 23rd day of April, 1979. Mullen ATTEST: s/ Patricia DeClercq APPROVAL OF AGREEMENTS WITH STATE HIGHWAY FOR ORANGE /COLFAX CONNECTOR Mr. McMahon submitted to the Board copies of three agreements between the City and the Indiana State Highway Commission in connection with the construction of the Orange /Colfax Connector. The agreements provide that the state will let the contracts and obtain federal aid funds for the project. The City agrees to contribute its portion and acknowledges that the money has been appropriated and is available. The project involves Orange Street, from Bendix to Birdsell, Birdsell Street, from Orange to Colfax, and Colfax, from Birdsell to LaPorte. Federal aid funds for the project are in the amount of $1,342,800 and the City's share is $447,600. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the agreements were approved and will be submitted to the Highway Commission for signature. BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - MONROE STREET PAVEMENT AND SEWER John E. Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, requested permission to advertise for bids for the pavement widening and storm sewer construction on Monroe Street, between Main and Lafayette. Plans and specifications have been prepared. The purpose of the project is to meet existing traffic demands for safe and efficient movement of vehicles as well as providing for control of storm drainage. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request to advertise for bids.
