21 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 9. 1979 MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE REQUEST FILED The Board received a request from the Maurice Matthys Little League to hold a parade on Saturday, May 19 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The proposed parade route was submitted for review. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail for review and recommendation. SALE OF POPPIES APPROVED Bendix Unit 284, American Legion Auxiliary, submitted a request to hold a sale of veteran -made poppies on the public sidewalks on May 18 and 19. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the sale was approved, REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOTS FILED The Board received a request from Lucy Small regarding the purchase of a city -owned lot at 1316 Liston Street and a request from Eugene LeDonne regarding the purchase of a city -owned lot at 2005 W. Indiana Avenue. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the requests were referred to the Mayor's Office, Engineering Department, Community Development Department, Park Department for review and a determination as to whether the lots should be retained for any purpose. REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY FILED The Board received a request from David Nowak to hold a Block Party on East Hampshire Drive, between Gotham and Riding Mall, on July 8, 1979 from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail for review and recommendation. SALE OF CITY -OWNED LOTS APPROVED The Board was advised that the following list of city -owned lots and requests to purchase them were filed pursuant to the December 4th resolution for the sale of lots to abutting property owners for $1.00. Each lot has been reviewed by the Mayor's Office, Community Development Department, Park Department, Engineering Department and the Councilman of the respective District and was cleared for sale. The Engineering Department abstracted property ownership and verified that the applicants were qualified abutting property owners. 219 E. Calvert Street 227 S. Chestnut Street 726 N. O'Brien Lucinda Graham Sale of 1117 E. Bissell to Ernestine Jackson Whiting subject to receipt of a letter from the recorded owner, Mrs. Whiting. The letter is in the mail from Boston. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the sale of lots as recommended.
