21 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 9. 1979 <br />MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE REQUEST FILED <br />The Board received a request from the Maurice Matthys Little League <br />to hold a parade on Saturday, May 19 beginning at 9:00 a.m. <br />The proposed parade route was submitted for review. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Detail for review and recommendation. <br />SALE OF POPPIES APPROVED <br />Bendix Unit 284, American Legion Auxiliary, submitted a request to <br />hold a sale of veteran -made poppies on the public sidewalks on <br />May 18 and 19. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the sale was approved, <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOTS FILED <br />The Board received a request from Lucy Small regarding the purchase <br />of a city -owned lot at 1316 Liston Street and a request from Eugene <br />LeDonne regarding the purchase of a city -owned lot at 2005 W. <br />Indiana Avenue. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the requests were referred to the Mayor's Office, <br />Engineering Department, Community Development Department, Park <br />Department for review and a determination as to whether the lots <br />should be retained for any purpose. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY FILED <br />The Board received a request from David Nowak to hold a Block Party <br />on East Hampshire Drive, between Gotham and Riding Mall, on July 8, <br />1979 from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Detail for review and recommendation. <br />SALE OF CITY -OWNED LOTS APPROVED <br />The Board was advised that the following list of city -owned lots <br />and requests to purchase them were filed pursuant to the December <br />4th resolution for the sale of lots to abutting property owners for <br />$1.00. Each lot has been reviewed by the Mayor's Office, Community <br />Development Department, Park Department, Engineering Department <br />and the Councilman of the respective District and was cleared for <br />sale. The Engineering Department abstracted property ownership and <br />verified that the applicants were qualified abutting property owners. <br />219 E. Calvert Street <br />227 S. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the sale <br />of lots as recommended. <br />
