FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Chief Andrzejewski appeared before the Board and matters pertaining to <br />his department were discussed. <br />The Fire Chief asked permission for himself and Assistant Chief Doran to attend <br />the State Firemen's Convention at Fort Wayne, August 10, 11, and 12. Permission granted. <br />The Fire Chief also asked permission for his instructor and another man to attend <br />the State School at Purdue University on September 11, 129 13, and 14. Also that on one <br />day of the school session that either he or one of his assistants might also attend. <br />Permission granted. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, appeared before <br />the Board and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />Mr. Hunsberger recommenda that 4000 lumen lights be installed at the following <br />locations: Brookton Drive & Catherwood Drive; between Alpine Drive & Brookton Drive; <br />on Catherwood Drive; Magyor Court &,drookfield Street; the west end of Magyor Court <br />at the alley intersection; <br />Also, 4000 lumen lights should be placed at the following intersections: Salem <br />Drive & Manchester Drive; Whitehall Drive & Oxford Lane; Ebeling Drive & Rexford Drive; <br />Hickory Road &Rexford Drive; Whitehall Drive & Rexford Drive; Delano Avenue & Victory <br />Avenue; Hope Avenue & Victory Avenue; MacArthur Avenue & Victory Avenue; Ironwood <br />Drive & Edison Road; and Chimes Avenue & Edison Road. Board now approves Mr..Hunsber- <br />ger's recommendation. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Police Chief Dutrieux submitted a request for permission to enter a five man <br />team in the State Pistol Championship matches, to be held at the State Police range at <br />Putnambille on August 4 and 5. Permission granted. <br />Special policemen bonds were examined and approved for Alfred L. Perkins and <br />L. C. Barnes. <br />Applications for the Special Police Permits were approved for Frank Biebuyck <br />and James P. Shields. <br />Applications for the Police Department were approved and placed on.file for <br />Willie Johnson Robertson. <br />Applications for the Fire Department were approved and placed on file for <br />Dominick Anthony Maure, Eugene Gerald Taelman, and John A. Salay. <br />A report from the Pension Board with reference to Joseph Fokey who has re- <br />turned to work for the Fire Department after spending two years in the Armed Forces. <br />Report indicates that said Fokey was placed on pension pay effective as of August 1, <br />1956. <br />There being no further business to <br />journed at 10:35 A.M.
