Application approved and effective as of April 15, 1956. POLICE DEPARTMENT Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board with reference to request of Lieutenant Stephen J. Ciesielski for promotion from Lieutenant to Captain. Promotion approved and effective April 1, 1956. 1 Request of Patrolman Richard J. Podell for promotion from Patrolman to Sergeant. Board approved promotion and said Podell will continue assignment in Board of Health. Effective April 1, 1956. Officer F. W. Voss request permission for leave of absence from Police Department to make short tour of duty for the U. S. Air Force during the per- iod of April 13, 1956 to April 28, 1956, inclusive. Permission granted. Sergeant Harmon requests permission for a fifteen day leave of absence to attend a short tour of duty with the Army Air Force during the period of April 13, 1956 to April 27, 1956. Request granted. A report from Officers Zeider and Teske was submitted to the Board with reference to the hazardous condition from the unfinished foundation of the church in the 800 block West Ridgedale Road. The foundation is located in the area of two highly populated children areas, South-more Heights and Miami Hills, and is a great danger to these children. The Board has there- fore authorized that a notice be sent to the owners of said property and that proper barricading be made immediately. The special police bond for Robert Gammage, 1304 Catalpa Street has been denied by the Board. Application for the Police Department was accepted and ordered filed for Ronald Joseph Toppel.
