Application approved <br />and effective as of April 15, 1956. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board with reference to request of <br />Lieutenant Stephen J. Ciesielski for promotion from Lieutenant to Captain. <br />Promotion approved and effective April 1, 1956. <br />1 <br />Request of Patrolman Richard J. Podell for promotion from Patrolman to <br />Sergeant. Board approved promotion and said Podell will continue assignment <br />in Board of Health. Effective April 1, 1956. <br />Officer F. W. Voss request permission for leave of absence from Police <br />Department to make short tour of duty for the U. S. Air Force during the per- <br />iod of April 13, 1956 to April 28, 1956, inclusive. Permission granted. <br />Sergeant Harmon requests permission for a fifteen day leave of absence <br />to attend a short tour of duty with the Army Air Force during the period of <br />April 13, 1956 to April 27, 1956. Request granted. <br />A report from Officers Zeider and Teske was submitted to the Board <br />with reference to the hazardous condition from the unfinished foundation of <br />the church in the 800 block West Ridgedale Road. The foundation is located <br />in the area of two highly populated children areas, South-more Heights and <br />Miami Hills, and is a great danger to these children. The Board has there- <br />fore authorized that a notice be sent to the owners of said property and that <br />proper barricading be made immediately. <br />The special police bond for Robert Gammage, 1304 Catalpa Street has been <br />denied by the Board. <br />Application for the Police Department was accepted and ordered filed for <br />Ronald Joseph Toppel. <br />The monthly report of the Police Department for the month of February <br />was accepted and filed. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK <br />
