This was receiv ed and <br />noted. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Andrze,jewski was present and matters pertaining,to his depart- <br />ment were discussed. <br />The Chief requested the Board to approve the purchase of a radio for <br />one of the Fire Department cars in accordance with specifications sub- <br />mitted. The Clerk of the Board was directed to take the steps necessary <br />to acquire this equipment. <br />Applications for the Fire Department were received and placed on <br />file for Martin Roman Kopinski, Ernest Jack Reed and Lawrence Ronald <br />Banicki. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Dutrieux was present and matters pertaining to his department <br />were discussed. <br />The Chief presented a request for the purchase of eight new cars <br />for the Police Department and also for the purchase of eight mobile <br />radio units for the said cars, according to specifications submitted. <br />The Clerk of the Board was directed to advertise for bids for the cars <br />and radio equipment. The chief informed the Board that there will be <br />a trade in of six used cars. <br />The Chief presented reports from Edward G. Radecki and Richard J. <br />Gillen, members of the Police Department requesting permission to re- <br />tire on Pension and asking for the customary retirement leave. A mo- <br />tion was made to accept the retirements of Edward G. Radecki and Richard <br />J. Gillen effective February 6, 1.956. <br />The firm of Crumpacker, May, Beamer, Levy, and Searer, by Arthur A. <br />May, as attorney for Erwin F. Kowalski filed a petition for dismissal <br />of the proceedings against Erwin F. Kowalski. This matter was continued <br />until February 13, 1956 at 10 :00 A.M. <br />Applications for the Police Department were received and ordered <br />fled for Wilmer Eugene Grimes, Larry Eugene Hill, Edward Leonard Durrell, <br />Vincent John Nagy and John Andrew Haney. - <br />A petition for Auxiliary School Patrol was received and ordered <br />filed for Marcelle Martin Gray. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Hunsberger was present and matters pertaining to his department <br />were discussed. <br />Mr. Hunsberger presented a report wherein he recommends the installa- <br />tion of 4000 lumen lights at the intersection of Huey and Bergen Streets <br />and Pershing and Huey Stteets.
