:216 December 19, 1955 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday, December 19, 1955, at 10 :00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting =were read and approved. Salary claims, it the total amount of $171,376.36, were approved. Duck, and brought to the attention of the Board, the Fire Departmentts need for twa new sedans for Fire Inspectors, use. Funds being available for this purpose, the Board directd.d the Clerk to proceed to advertise for bids accordingly. The Chief then called attention to the need for three new automatic The in three of the Fire Stations using coal heat, and presented three quotations reeeived from dealers in this type of equip- ment. The Board examined the proposals and withheld decision in the matter until the advice of a heating expert can be had on the subject. The Chief then placed with the Board papers pertaining to the physical condition of two firemen. Upon the recommendation of Dr. Wm. J. Stogdill, Fireman Ray Mc Neff was, thereupon, retired from the Fire Department, on the basis of a medical disability retir -e-ment. Upon the recommendation of Dr. Wm. J. Sikorski was retired from the Fire Departme man Alex nt Stogdill, the basis ogdill, Fireman a medical disability retirement. Chief Duck then recommended to the Board, the appointment of Richard V. Breckrus to the department to fill an existing vacancy. The Board reviewed the application of Mr. Brekrus and in complaince with the Fire Chiefts recommendation, approved the appointment to become effective December 20, 1955•
