POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police R. J. Gillen, being present, again took up with <br />the Board the matter of the City's responsibility for.medical service <br />rendered to paupers while in police custody. After some discussion it <br />was the consensus of opinion of the Board, that the City would be re- <br />sponsible for the first treatment, which would be in the nature of an <br />emergency, for any further medical services rendered °such prisoner, the <br />hospital should demand payment from the Township Trustee in his capacity <br />as overseer of the poor. <br />The Police Department application of Leo.Losicki, was examined and <br />ordered filed.- <br />ELECTRIC.AAL DEPARTMENT: <br />The recommendation of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger, that a 4000 <br />lumen light be installed on the southeast corner of Ridgedale Road and <br />Woldhaven Drive, was approved by the Board. <br />A petition, dated August 16, 1955, for the installation of a <br />street light at the intersection of Woodlawn and.Riverside Drive was <br />examined and referred to Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for investigation <br />and report. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board; meeting <br />thereupon adjourned; the time then being 10:35 A.M. CST. <br />Attest P - <br />Clerk <br />Char rman <br />September 6, 1955 <br />A regular meeting of <br />the Board <br />of Public Safety was held Monday, <br />September 6, 1955, at 10 :00 <br />A.M. All <br />members were present. Minutes <br />of the <br />previous meeting were. read and <br />approved. Salary claims in the amount <br />of <br />$82,425.40 were approved.
