FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, recommended to the Board <br />the advancement in rank of Capt. Robert Smith to that of Battalion <br />Chief with the title of Instructor, replacing Instructor Russell <br />Hoffman. The Board approved the recommendation and ordered the <br />advance in rank to be made effective June 16, 1955. <br />The Fire Chief then recommended to the Board the .f.illing of two <br />vacancies in the department by the appointment of Franx G. Koloszar,Jr. <br />and Marshall Earl Brodbeck as Firemen, effective June 16, 1955, subject <br />to.the usual six months probationary period. There being no objections, <br />the Board unanimously approved the appointments and it was so ordered. <br />The Fire Departmentts need for ten steel beds and bed springs <br />for the equipment of Fire Station No. 15, and the recommendation that <br />these be of the same style and grade as supplied for Fire Station N014 <br />was next considered by the Board and the Clerk was authorized to.pro- <br />ceed,accordingly, with the purchase of this needed equipment. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Supt. Ira Hunsbergerts recommendation for the installing of a <br />2500 lumen light at the alley intersection with Walnut Street, at <br />Thomas Street dead -end, was approved by the Board. <br />Petitions bearing dates of June 3rd and June 4th, calling for <br />street lighting on Teri Street, between Fellows and Addison, and on <br />Addison Street, between Jennings and Klinger, were examined and <br />referred to Supt. Ira Hunsberger for investigation and report. <br />The Electrical Departmentts need for 5,000 feet of No. 16 wire <br />was next considered and a satisfactory quotation having been received <br />on this quantity, the Board directed the Clerk to proceed with the <br />purchase. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 11:40 A.
