All members were present. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims <br />in the total amount of $73,894-41, were approved. Pallo as a City Fireman, effective October 1, 1954, and subject <br />to the regular probationary period, having satisfactorily passed physic <br />examinations required. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Superintendent Ira Hunsberger, being present, recommended to the <br />Board the installation of a 6000 lumen light in the island at Union, <br />Congress and MacArthur Avenues, and approval was granted. <br />Superintendent Hunsberger further recommended installing a 4000 <br />lumen light at the northwest corner of alley intersection at 1043 W. <br />Colfax Avenue and a 4000 lumen light at the southwest corner of Rose <br />Street and Sherman Avenue. The Board approved both installations. <br />The Electrical Departmentfs need for a quantity of supplies <br />totaling approximately $475.00 was then brought to the attention of the <br />Board. The list and prices were examined and the Clerk was directed to <br />proceed with the purchase of the required supplies. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />The Police Department application of Merl A. Batties (incomplete) <br />was examined and ordered filed. <br />The application for Police Auxiliary School Patrol of 14able S. <br />Collins was examined and ordered filed. <br />The Monthly Report of the Police Department for August was examii <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the mE <br />meeting was adjourned at 12 :20 noon. <br />611 a"UX A$ Tf= BOARD ipman <br />0 <br />
